And the co-founder of Just Eat has been put in charge of solving the cost of living crisis
Just Eat have one of the worst online customer ratings I've ever seen a company get if you look them up its in the 1s on everything. They seem to have built up their business by having a decent network in place to sign up takeaways and by bombarding people with ads.

They have a policy where they only refund affected items in your delivery if you have a problem and never refund delivery fees. We recently fell fowl of this when ordering from McDonalds, one of the burgers we ordered had a sheet of plastic in it about the size of the burger, how did they resolve the matter by refunding us £4 out of a £24 order and by sending a very stern email informing us of their policy's to never refund delivery fees and only refund the affected items, They also don't pass on any complaints to restaurants or deal with any issues you have with restaurants either.

This fine capitalist is offering his services to the government free, gratis and for nothing. What a guy! I can't think there's any undue influence or reciprocations-in-kind or promises of state honours or anything like that going on.

I recently uninstalled UberEats for this. They kept bringing orders with bits missing, but often they were bits where, if I'd known they were going to be missing, I would never have ordered the food. Decided I'd had enough when they refunded me £2 of a £20 order which was a waste of money.

I don't order anything through JustEat (or any equivalent) as I prefer to drive over and pick up myself, but I had a long discussion about it a while back with my local Chinese takeaway owner who was very angry about their service and had terminated their partnership.

Basically, they charge a pretty high commission for their service (I think it was 14%). It's not that you really get more customers than you ever did before they existed, but if you're not on JustEat nowadays a significant amount of people will just use some other takeaway. But if you're already operating on very slim margins, 14% is a lot to lose. However, you aren't allowed to charge JustEat customers more or do something like give regular walk-in customers some freebies (and they ruthlessly check). To takeaways that predate the existence of JustEat and already offered their own delivery service, their presence is just like a tapeworm that sucks away profit so everyone suffers.

But at that point he'd had enough and said he would rather have less customers than give them any more money and would just see how he got on... he sold up to somebody else a couple of years after.

The European Court of Human Rights looks to have grounded the first Rwanda bound flight

Looking like a real winning deal sticking with the Johnson strategy there

The first Rwanda flight ended up being cancelled.
Priti Patel remains resolute to get another flight organised in her mission to debase as many refugees as possible
Naturally this all ties in with the cabinets arguments to leave the European Court of Human Rights

It's not just the ECHR, refugees are also protected by a UN treaty. If the UK really wants to do this then we'll have to back out of the UN too.

Everywhere near us just dealt with this by making all their food, even in the restaurant, £2 or so more expensive about a month after they all got on Deliveroo.

Reading the last few posts made me think that the actions of Priti Patel and Jacob Rees-Mogg to destroy any remaining human rights laws and any remaining relations with our European neighbours lead to all of the takeaway restaurants near Asura to put up their prices by £2.

I'm now quite cynical enough to believe the government could have deliberately set up this malicious, misbegotten Rwanda adventure to fail at the hands of foreign courts as a way to re-inflame the gammon racist sentiment that keeps them in office.

I don't feel it was set up specifically to fail, but I suspect it's one of those "Xanatos Gambit"-type plans, where it might succeed or fail in 5-6 different ways but all of them can be spun in some way the government wants.

It's election campaigning too, doggedly trying to showcase a tough stance on 'all those foreigners coming over here for benefits and our jobs' whilst at the same time failing to recognise even most of the most rabid on that issue no longer care less about it
