And reinforcing the point that Liverpool were only ever top because the top two teams in the country were underperforming

I love Liverpool supporters. Seriously. They're wonderfully passionate and incredibly optimistic. I know a lot IRL who literally cry if their team loses. These are BIG guys as well. They're so optimistic, which I think is great. It also gives me plenty of opportunity to wind them up

As I said many months back, Liverpool won't win because they can't hold form. I think your squad is lacking. They need more winners there, players with true grit; you need more goal scorers rather than counting on 2 players.

You may put together a few wins and the table will change a little, but I think you'll end up in a tight run for third, fourth and fifth place, if Villa can keep going and Arsenal scrape a few points back (talk of another team relying on ONE player!).

Torres or Captain Fantasic no on top form and Liverpool are dire and hopeless, a League winning side Liverpool most sadly aren't

Yes Liverpool have spent more than most teams, and they always finish ahead of most teams too because of this.
They have, however, spent less than United or Chelsea and don't finish ahead of them.

This point is only valid if Liverpool were falling behind teams spending less money, but they are currently third....behind the two teams spending more than them, which is probably what one would expect.

Yeah cos Stoke, Hull and Everton didn't have anything to do with the games against you whatsoever. Hilarious

I was actually trying to point out the slight sillyness of your statement but hey I guess that didn't come across to well.

We haven't played well but that isn't all down to us, sometimes you have to say the opposition did pretty well. You seem to be suggesting that Liverpool's poor run is down to just them and not the fact that opposition might have played decently.

You seem to be very dismissive of the quality of teams beyond the top 4 or 5 which is quite a bold thing to suggest. The Premier League is well sort after and a prestigious trophy to win because it is widely acknowledged that on anything can happen, nothing is guranteed. I mean come on now, your beloved manager Loofa wouldn't be so stressed out if he didn't want to win it so bad.

Stoke and Everton were very well organised at the back of course, but IMO a top side should've been able to break them down and beat them with quality. We weren't good enough to do that.

You have to look to your own sides shortcomings and not pull out the old 'they parked the bus in front of goal' excuse. Poorer quality teams will defend and play for the draw, and some of them will do it very well, but you have to be good enough to beat them. We were not. (I thought Hull were terrible btw).

I only really know one Liverpool supporter ( I live in the south so obviously I know lots of Man U supporters).

I've generally not had amazing experiences with them watching games. I still seem to experience the hostile atmosphere you got early 90's with them that you don't get with other clubs. Also in the games I've attended, their support was pretty subdued. Seems to happen a lot (especially in recent games), you hear them singing at the start of the game and Sky turn up the pitch side mics to emphasise it (can always hear the moments when they turn them down, usually because of swearing in the chanting) and they start the game lively but 10 minutes in the crowd noise dies.

That said there are big sections of Chelsea that are quiet now, especially the family section where the surge in glory hunters mean that there are less passionate parents getting their kids to follow their club too. They have made improvements to the support though (singing sections and whatnot).

Money doesn't mean you'll win the league , sure it helps but its not the be and end all. Liverpool spent far more than Arsenal, yet Arsenal have won the Prem , something which is so beyond Liverpool at present .

Also I wonder when you add up what Sir Alex as spend and sold , how much more he's really spent more than Liverpool . I think you need to face facts , its not money that's the trouble or the issue at Liverpool , its more the uselss manager you had and the current one you got both of which have waste millions on buying sh8t, or training up Goal keepers for them do wonderful at different clubs ,

?20 Million on a player for him not even to be on the Team sheet , like Rafa its laughable.

Benitez's team selections have been mostly shocking since he came in. His resting of key players has toned down a bit, but it's still happening. He's stubborness is frustrating. It may not been all his fault but I think he definately isn't helping us.

How exactly does being 5 points (2 if we beat Chelsea at home late today) behind Man Utd make the Prem "so beyond" us?

God, I'm not trying to be funny, but your posts/trolling on this thread are becoming increasingly embarrassing.

Oh I'm not trolling , just would really like to see Liverpool win the bloody thing. And I really don't think you'll be at the top come the end of the season , and will fade way . Many teams have been top of the their divisions in the run to Christmas only not to last the course, not least my beloved Cardiff a new years back . I just think you'll win nothing under Rafa (league wise) and he's wasted millions on players , which simple aren't good enough to win the league,

The worst part is like with Gerard Houllier, Rafa is wasting millions on players , that will need another clear out when Rafa gets the boot , which imo he will.

I bet you will win today , only then to go on and lose to the likes of Bolton

No Keane in the squad today. He also pointed out at the press conference for the game that Keane was bought by the club, not him.

Clearly he is unhappy with having Robbie Keane placed in his squad. Regardless of the dude's quality Gerrard has clearly shown he is a better player in the Liverpool system where Keane would usually operate.

People are whinging he needs to be given a chance but he has had TONS of chances this seasons. People also whinge he has been taken off for the vast majority of those games, but in nearly all of those games he has been ineffectual so its a no brainer he needed replacing.

If anything, Keane is worth keeping as a back-up player for when Gerrard/Alonso gets injured. I'd rather have Keane come instead of fookin Lucas.

Spot on , also Kuyt was given plenty of chances , and his goal record is harldy anything to shout about , even if I do like him as a player and person..

And how BeachBoy gets inthe squad , I love to know

Chelsea down to 10 men, Liverpool need to show what they have to offer now.

Oh and would just like to mention something cos a certain someone *coughsaifcough* always mentions these things. Disgraceful behaviour by Gerrard, swearing and mouthing off at the referee. How wasn't he booked for dissent eh? Absolute outrage and so on.

"Utterly disgraceful" as the man himself would say.
