The ref made lots of technically correct decisions but things that go either way tended to go Liverpool's way. However this is usually the case at Old Trafford too so it's a bit rich of Ferguson to complain about it.

Carragher should've really been sent off but refs have differing views on what the 'last man' actually is. There's been a few reds recently where someone was arguably not the last man so he probably had that.

Vidic should've been sent off. Two fairly straight forward yellows. I hate this attitude (that a lot of pundits and some refs have) that a second yellows should require worse challenges than what would get you a first yellow. A yellow card offence is a yellow card offence. There are certain players who benefit a lot from the reluctance to give a second yellow
    .

Also, had Chelsea surrounded the ref as often as Man U did, we'd be called all sorts of names by the papers and the FA would investigate.

The ref was giving Vidic as much of a chance as he could, he let two earlier cynical ****bag challenges on Torres go without cards.

I just watched the Carra incident as i missed it yesterday and have to say I wouldnt have sent him off. We can see he was last man but there was a covering runner along side and Owen wasnt in clear possession.
I am not saying it was correct but I can see why he made that decision. The pace of the game and all the variable involved he did well.

I genuinely laughed at him when he was being interviewed on Sky Sports News.

I didn't mind him talking about the challenges, penalty opportunities and red/yellow cards but when Alex brought up the 'atmosphere advantage'...

F*ck off mate - your 'theatre of dreams' is one of the worse examples of that argument.

It shouldn't even be a debate, Carra should have gone, no question. Vidic being sent off was spot on in my opinion, he knew what he was doing and he knew he was going off.

However, the best team won, in fact the best team by quite a way from where I was sitting. You know you are struggling when you bring Nani on, terrible terrible player he is.

Really good finish from N'Gog by the way, the pressure must have been monumental on him at that moment, but he slotted it away, well played.

On an unrelated note, I'd LOVE to see a load of players gather round the ref, and he books every one of them. They do it again? Second booking. It's bollocks and shouldn't be allowed. The ref is in charge, what he says goes, if you want a debate about it, talk with your mates, talk with your boss, don't spit bile and swear at the ref. I'd love to see it happen, but it'd take a ref with an awful lot of bottle to do it.

Nothing about Football...it's what you know.
No I'm season ticket holder of my chosen club, no need to watch home games on SKY, or highlights on the BBC , or a need, to do personal insults either

And you can look at it a few ways ...

Maybe you right ,and Rafa is the man to trust , and BeachBoy is a great footballer , maybe so is Glen Johnson is worth that £17 million spend
In which case you can happily rub my face in it , come the end of the season ,when you lift the title .
If not , then it's up for debate who knows best .

Hey I'd rather have a beach boy than a poor man's wacko
So let me get this straight , everyone that find fault with Liverpool , 'Must' be a ' Man U' fan ?. That's great football logic there , I must say .

He only pops in when we win
You won last Tuesday ? Yet More amazing football Logic ! :P

Spot on, both should have gone . I'm getting sick of ol Whiskey nose always blaming the Ref, he's like that waste of space that Is Mark ' Let blame the Ref' Hughes . Makes me laugh when they say , the trouble with Ref's is that they've never played the game professionally ...
When was the last Time , Hughes , or Whiskey nose , or most of the players ever Refereed a game professionally ??? .

Time the baboons at UFEA and FIFA acted and made it , that noone can question the Ref's authority , during the game (bar asking why the foul was given) Just like what happens in Rugby .

Please! - because insinuating that supporters of said club on here are armchair fans isn't personal? Do me a favour!

It's pretty simple - when you prove remotely capable of offering up any reasoned, intelligent and sensible footballing debate INSTEAD of trolling with your anti-Rafa rhetoric and crap that blatantly isn't true, then maybe you'll get a more positive response.

Until then, 'tis very simple - YOU KNOW NOTHING ABOUT FOOTBALL.

I actually go to Liverpool games. The ones that I can't catch on TV. Have to admit that TA is more of a Liverpool fan more than me though, due to having a Cardiff season ticket. I applaud you.

I only said I like to see Liverpool lift the title , I think it be good for Football , and for some of my mates tbh.

Oh I think its only a bit of banter , Just like making out , someone knows nothing about football
When they go to watch the bloody game , on Saturdays/Sundays and Tuesdays , come rain or shine .
You've never heard 'Part time supporter' chants Is that all.... is that all...., you take away' chants ? . You know banter between the fans

INSTEAD of trolling with your anti-Rafa rhetoric and crap that blatantly isn't true,
My only problem is with Rafa , what's so wrong with that ? . Is it the Tile you want , or are you happy to play 2nd best and win the Cups now and again ? . If its the Premiership, then Rafa hasn't delivered , and its looking suspect this season too
If its 2nd best, and winning cups , why the need to get rid of Evans , Houllier ???

I'll stay out of the thread until the end of the season , has I really don't want this to get nasty . It's Rafa I dislike , not you

You going to lubing yourself up for a massive "Told you so" post in May in the meanwhile. Looking forward to it, mate. Thank goodness you are here.

Looks like he does require more surgery if stories in today's papers are true. *sigh*

Yeah shame. Hope he's not out for too long.

Aquilani timing is good. I don't expect him to be an instant win, but after a couple of cameos, he does look very decent. Someone who we could put behind Torres or have Benayoun behind Torres with Aquilani behind him.

                          Will be interesting.

Hope he's fit enough for a good 60-70 mins, cos with Gerrard injured and Lucas with swine flu we might need him at the weekend.

Lucas has Swine flu? Was this widely reported? Must have missed it.

Well it's a rumour, the club haven't released any statements or anything, but a couple of people who are normally right about these things have both texted me the same thing, so I think there is something in it.

Hopefully it's just chinese whispers though and he'll be fine for tomorrow.
