So you're not from Bournemouth but you're not a Liverpoool fan either. Ok, so i care a bit less about what you think now. You don't know what you're talking about as far as a Liverpool-Everton rivalry within the city so it doesn't really matter. We'll just leave it at that like. This isn't the moral highground it's football fans and grown men who detest eachother's side arguing over their teams. Not clever but that's just the way it has to be so this is how we live. I avoided any confrontation with them for years best i could, but they started to take the piss around 2004/2005 time. And I give it back now and also because we beat them every time I back up what i say by the team going out and beating them. Can't stand them.

Never have i seen a more hatefilled and angry poster on this forum. You cannot in all seriousness brand all Everton fans as one and the same. Yes there will be idiots amongst them but they will be the minority. I have been to Goodison (in fact my first ever game was there) and I was about 9-10 and cannot remember any aggro at all. Most football fans hate their rivals - its part of football. Only a few will overstep the mark (Munich chants, etc) - this is a fact.
And no i'm not from Liverpool and neither do i support Liverpool or Everton but i fail to see what that has to do with anything.

I'm saying the the idiots are the Majority though. All of them are idiots when it comes to football. Every last one of them. The nasty chants, banners and rumour spreading about our players is every single everton fan in that stadium and most fans outside the stadium, i can say that as a fact. The only thing in my life i have ever hated is Everton football club, every single victory over them i treat as a massive personal victory over their fans and i celebrate the win for months. to see them get relegated or go out of business would be the best moment of my life. Better than when we won the champions league.

In advance, Everton are also to blame for England's failure to win the world cup, since they caused Cole's injury.

Wish i hadn't caught up on my reading of the last page of this thread, i'm starting to feel a little depressed . I realise this stuff must be important to some of you and respect that but i'm fairly sure none of us here are football thugs? And i'm sure this thread was supposed to be a bit of lighthearted banter to do with our club?.
Can't we just concentrate on Liverpools faltering season, we have enough problems of our own!

Man City away is looking more and more like the must win game of the season. Lose that and I think more than the 3 points, Man City's confidence boost would be massive for the rest of the season and push them on to get fourth.
To be honest, the Arsenal game wasn't as bad as the result suggested but if we play like that away to City we will lose.

Losing to Man City is a (potential) 9 point gap isn't it? That's a massive amount to make up.

Can't see you playing the same way against City, there's a very specific way to play against Arsenal that's incredibly effective (used by Chelsea and Man U). It's suicidal to play like that against a team that's physically stronger when it comes to attacking.

Agreed it was clear how Liverpool would set out to play this game and until the frankly unusual style of goal Arsenal scored it almost worked.

We tried to follow Utd and Chelsea's tactics against Arsenal, and we more than matched Arsenal for the majority of the game.

The problem was a simple one. Utd had Rooney to finish off their counter attacks, Chelsea had Drogba and we had (with all due respect) N'Gog.

Torres was badly (and obviously) missed.

There's an article on the LFC website where Rafa said Pacheco is close to his first start He's often the best player on the pitch whenever I manage to see a Reserve game so I'm genuinely confident he can make it in the 1st team. Is he registered for Europe?

                      Let's hope so.

Given our perilous financial state, and the fact that Christian Purslow went on record with SOS to say that we will be selling to buy players until for the foreseeable future, we really need to start promoting the more promising youngsters from the reserves to the 1st team.

Surely the likes of Pacheco, Nemeth, Kelly & Darby can't be any worse than the likes of Degen, Voronin, etc? Besides, they'd also save us the money.

I've thought Degen has been half decent when he's played recently....well going forward anyway Martin Kelly looked more than solid against Lyon, I'm sure had he not got injured we'd have seen more of him by now. Hopefully he'll play Europa League games?

As for Nemeth I'm not sure what to think. Whenever I've seen him he looks good but he's been with us a fair while now, I get the feeling that if he was going to 'make it' he would have by now...

Have to disagree about Degen. For me, he's just not good enough - offensively or defensively. Against Arsenal in mid-week when he came on for Carra, his first touch and ball control was laughably bad at times, and he was caught out of position for the cross that led to Arsenal's goal. I'd much rather see Darby or Kelly in the squad or playing right-back than Degen. I just don't rate him at all.

As for Nemeth, it's a fair point you bring up. For all the "hype", we've yet to see him in the team, and he's been at the club for some time now. That said, you could flip the argument and say that we've not really given him too much competitive English Football action to properly assess just how far along in his development he is.

Isnt nemeth currently in Turkey doing quite well?

You cant really complain about him really, he went on loan to a lower division club last season. His first start he got elbowed and broke his cheek bone, not exactly lucky.

I'd like to see him given more of a chance though.

Close...He's in Greece, playing for AEK Athens. He's made recent noises about not being against the loan becoming permanent.

In fairness he hasnt had a look in at Liverpool yet. If rafa rates him at all he should get him back and stick him in the squad in front of Babel.

Babel is a total waste of space.
