If he gets a run out tomorrow against Stoke we'll find out how he deals with getting kicked.

I'm reasonably confident on that front actually, Uruguayan football is known for having some proper hatchet men in defence (stand up Paolo Montero), so he probably got kicked a fair bit as a youth player.

Don't forget Van Nistelrooy too who came straight from the Dutch league and banged in 30+ goals a season in the EPL so not every player turns out like a Afonso Alves.

Although anyone can look good in a YouTube video there was some impressive stuff in there. Some lovely skills, a wide variety of goals and finally it looks like we've got someone right footed who can offer a bit of craft when it comes to freekicks. Oh, and that turn at 3min 40secs was amazing by the way, it's like something out of Pro Evo

Thats the bloke I was thinking of!
I wouldn't expect Kenny to sign a dog of player and am aware that Holland has produced some amazing players. People, and I think most folk on here know this, need to realise the relative quality of the Dutch League. Wednesday sold Gerlad Sibon when we were struggling in the Championship and the next thing I see is that he playing for PSV in The Champions League!

Not sure what the circumstances were surrounding his ban for biting an opponent, but I'm prepared to wager that we may have may have a few disciplinary problems if he doesn't like getting kicked. The uruguayans used to have a bit of rep for being a bit dirty in the 80s. Lets' hope that he doesn't have that in his game.

              Yeah, right.

Suarez will be decent I think, he has proved it on the world stage for Uruguay so for me that is proof enough. He certainly looked confident then sio no reason not to in the PL.

Carroll is more of a worry for me. There is talent there, bags of it but can he behave himself long enough.

I'm sure Liverpool will find him very handy to have around

I see Kenny is going for it tonight. He's named 6 defenders.

And if you bothered to research how he deployed the team you'll see it is all out attack.

To be fair, I posted that when all we had was the teamsheet...

I am listening to the thing on the radio you know.

Suarez comes on and scores. 2-0. Great pace.

Fair enough, are you a Liverpool fan? Just assumed most fans would know they'd set up attacking. Especially with the three central defenders. Aurelio has, in the past, played in central midfield as part of a 3 man set up. Which left Kelly and Johnson, who have both been playing wide since Dalglish's return.

Kuyt was excellent tonight. He did everything required of him, held the ball up perfectly and made sure nearly everything stuck to him when the team hit longer passes.

The movement of the entire team is so encouraging. Agger and Skrtel were both happy to throw themselves forward when the opportunity arose, Skrtel's chance was hilarious. Pass and move may well be alive.
