Arsenal could be transformed with a single 'strong' player up front. A player whose instinct when there are two players running towards him in the box is not to pass or try something fancy but just to take them head on.

It doesn't have to be someone the level of Drogba (pretty tall order to find a player of his ability that is available after all) , Wenger just needs to scout someone with strength strength and confidence. How many draws or tight results were there last season where all Arsenal could do was pass the ball around the box? Arsenal don't have a problem getting the ball into the right areas.

thats the type of analysis you hear a lot and footy fans love to think a single player will make all the difference, I'm not so sure though in our case unless that player brings something beyond the pitch to the squad, like say a Roy Keane figure that will galvanise and dominate a whole dressing room (in a mostly positve way).

I just don't see a certian spirit at the club that we need and a single striker/midfielder/defender/goalie won't alter that, the culture is the issue for me and unless it changes it will remain mostly brilliant to watch but potless.

that said I don't want to give up the lovely footy for a more pragmatic approach, Barca seem to manage both which tells me it's possible.

Man U are getting outclassed by Scunthorpe. Scunthorpe well deserve to be 1-0 up

          *edit*

Man U get 2 attempts, score twice. Guess that's the difference

Man U have scored 5 now, so one sided Radio 5 have moved on to the Liverpool match.

Another painful game for the Reds as Stevie G had to dig deep to save us from embarrassment. We didn’t play well at all, only when Christian Poulsen was subbed for David Ngog did we get some …

Goals for the Liverpool game here. Everything about the first goal was appauling. I'd even go so far as to say it was incredibly poor sportsmanship to even go for the goal in the first place.

Good performances from West Brom and Sunderland today.

Oh dear. How is that even a goal? Was the kick officially taken?

Unbelievable. Piss poor ref, and players with no honour.

Ref deemed that that light side foot to the keeper for him to take it was free kick being taken. Could be his last Premier League game for a while...

                        Twatwell ... what a mong.

I suppose it is karma for the beach ball, but disappoining sportsmanship I think. Imagine if that had happened the other way round.

                          Atwell again?

                          No...really?

Just seen the goal. Wow. No honour whatsoever.

His last premier league game should have been ages ago, but after his mistakes in the Arsenal/Bolton game he shouldn't have reffed again at this level.

Incidentally, hearing that Gerrard should've got a red for whacking his arm in someone's face, any vids of that?
