On MOTD2 they showed a replay of one of the Man U free kick goals, and you can see players in the wall not even turning around after the ball has gone past just in case it's a rebound and they need to defend.

Spur's game was almost an exact repeat of the Liverpool game.

Just read Redknapp's blaming Modric for the performance. If one player wanting to leave shakes up your whole squad that much, you've some major issues. That aside, he was vague about Modric's future for a fair while, fueling speculation. It was only the chairman who eventually came out and said he wasn't going anywhere.

Redknapp has definitely not handled the Modric situation very well. He may eventually get around to saying "Oh yeah, but the chairman says he's not for sale, so that's that." but he offers so much unneeded speculation on top that it keeps fuelling the fires of the media. I think Harry usually gets more stick than he deserves for the things he says, but he's not done the best for the club in this situation. I can't imagine Daniel Levy is very happy with the way he's gone about it.

It's not one player. If Szczesny manages to palm that out there's only one Arsenal defender in the box who's moving towards the ball, everyone else is competely static. Easy tap-in for the United players.

I think it is more a lack of self belief than anything else. There was an air of inevitability about the match beforehand, everyone was saying they were going to get hammered and they lived up to it.
It is just one match after all, we have to wait and see how they respond before we judge the players too hard.

I do get your point for sure but sometimes you can't help but feel that way. Not excusing it but watching your squad fall to pieces around you must be very difficult, especially if you are used to the best.

They also need a midfield general to get the team ticking. Wilshere will definitely do the play making job when he comes back but they will still need someone next to him with that bit of bite. I'm not sure if there is anyone availableto fill the role, Parker is going to Spurs, Diarra to Spurs too although he wouldn't go back to Arsenal anyhow, I imagine.

So who do Arsenal get in the middle of the pitch to do some of the dirty work?

Keep getting these games mixed up, all these North London thumpings are blending into one. I'm sure Spurs will beat Mr Ferguson when they play at home rather than the City of Manchester!
