Or do the same standing next to him. I like to give him a pat every now and again. Then I make him jump off a cliff or two.

It was actually whilst trying to reach the Secret Garden that I discovered the charge jump. I nearly made it to a ledge which looked like I could have walked on it too.

I tend to pat Argo if I accidentally trash him on an overly ambitious jump. He looks genuinely hurt and dejected poor fella.

Where can I find the secret garden?

I still think that having a guidebook that explained how you do all this cool stuff would have been a bonus for the first run through the game. Now I've seen how easy and short the game is I'm glad there are still things to learn though as you fine tune your paths and strategy.

The Time Attack has shown me that I need to find quicker routes on some Colossi than I have been doing. For instance the one where you ride on its head around the lake took me ages first go, but the short amount of time you get to take him down forced me to work out that you need to attack the tooth like rocks on his head to guide him (I was running from side to side thinking that was doing something >_<). Same with #15, I would spend ages trying to climb into his armpit then time my drop down to the palm of his hand - when all I need to do was jump off and wait for him to smash the ground with his fist.

It really is a fantastic addition to the game.

I read somewhere on this thread long ago that you could get the horse to rear up and go into a gallop from standing... can't find it though - does anyone know how it's done?

Pull down on the analogue stick and double tap X.

You can also double tap X to come to a dead stop.

Spagmaster, there have been a few people on various sites and on FAQ`s that say how much of a pain in the arse (and giving bad advice) it is to get on the grassy colossus with the rocks on his head, but whilst playing hard time attack I sussed out a dead easy way of doing it.

Also at one point he didn`t smash the pedistall thing I was on and he turned his back on me. Instead of trying to get his attention so I could jump on his face, I simply swam after him and climbed up his back and onto his head!

If anyone wants to know my method of getting on grassy colossus with the rocks on his head guy..... gimme a shout!

                    I've been

hiding behind the pillar/stump when it attacks and then when its feet are on the disc I jump off the stump onto its face

                    .

                      Hehe ok!

I`m probably not doing much different than anyone else as other than getting lucky and climbing up his back, the only other method is to jump on his face. Anyway I`ll tell you what I know.

Ok, at the start swim to the nearest pedistall, this will be the one with no roof on. As soon as you get there make sure the raised center part is inbetween you and the colossus. Give him a whistle or fire some arrows to get his attention, you shouldn`t really need to do this but sometimes he wanders off and if you are playing in a time attack scenario you don`t want this to happen.

When you have his attention he`ll fire that bastard lightning at you, but just duck under the raised area in the center to avoid. Put some arrows in his face and if poss in the rocks on his head, this seems to keep him coming forward and keeps him interested. Eventually he`ll sink low in the water and come out of the water placing his front two feet on the pedistal with you.

This will happen probably after his second lightning strike so watch out for it as it is very important, not so much the first time you get on his face as he stays very low the first time but certainly for everytime after. As soon as he fires the second lightning strike move towards the colossus. He`ll sink down and you`ll see spray by his legs. At this point he`ll put his feet on the pedistal with you but as his feet land his head goes very very low, this is your cue to get on but timing is important. If timed correctly this will make getting on his face very easy everytime on a wrecked pedistal with no roof.

Once on guide colossus to the pedistal with a roof on as normal, jump onto pedistal and hide behind raised part, he`ll again try and mount the pedistal. Come out from your hiding place and jump on his chest to administer punishment.

Now when he sinks back into the water three things can happen, this seems to be hard mode only but you can react according to the situation. In normal I think he just smashes the pedistal everytime.

                      1) He`ll smash the pedistal you attacked him from. If this happens just climb back on the now broken pedistal and repeat the process I mentioned earlier for getting back on him. He may possibly keep his head higher this time round so again, wait for him to drop low andmake the jump when he is very low and it is comfortable.

                      2) He`ll turn his back on you and walk off. If he does this it`s a Brucie bonus. He has grass from his head all the way to his back. Just jump in the water and swim after him, climb up his back and you`re on his head again.

                      3) He`ll hang arround the still complete pedistal. If he does this it can be a pain if you`re careless. Where the pillars are holding up the roof, there are little platforms jutting out. With the colossus infront of you, he`ll be near two of these platforms, he will ALWAYS be nearer to one than the other. All you need to do is hide behind it and avoid lightning strikes. When it is safe get on the platform. You maybe able to go straight for his face, if not shoot him with arrows to get him to drop low enough.

From what I can gather and again looks like it`s hard mode only, if number 3 happens and you get back on the pedistal, when you attack the colossus he`ll sometimes go back under the water after just one attack, the bastard!

Once your on him again just repeat the attack part and hey presto, he`s sleeping with the fishies!!

                      Hope that helps you guys!

That`s pretty much it but I think on hard mode it`s harder

to make the jump from the raised part to his face, especially after the first time you get up there. If you wait for him to land his head goes so low you can stand right at the front of teh disk and just jump on easy.

It now completes a trinity of games which I have played multiple times immediately upon completion, the other two being Zelda: OoT and RE4.
