PDZ can seem graphically great in areas, pretty standard in others. Some of the texturing can be pretty stunningly detailed, but that doesn't mean the next portion of the level will be the same.

I really like PDZ, but it's not showing anything graphically better than todays top PC titles.

It can have 32 players, If you go to custom match you can change it in dark ops. Havent tried deathmatch though.

The graphics aren't next-gen, despite a few effects that are really cool. The game, however, is a joy to play if you just enjoy it as for what it is.

This is not an example of next-gen gaming. It is, however, a fun FPS with some beautifuly designed set-pieces and levels. Rushing through it like the reviewers have so blatently done completely misses the point. Yes, the objective design is pretty confusing, but the levels are SO open that it makes it OK. Just go with the flow and this is a superb game. Try and pick wholes and you'll find many, enjoy it for what it is and you'll have a great time.

        GG.

The levels seem to range from very good to rather crappy and the frame rate seems to be dropping into the low 20's at times. And thank god for the waypoint arrows - i've never seen such vague and directionless levels in my life. Some are so expansive and drab they make the very worst levels in Halo look exciting.

Nevertheless, if you ignore the flaws and treat it as a stand alone game it can be a very enjoyable shooter - I just find that hard to do at times considering the games it's following.

Stayed up till 4am playing this last night, really loving it now.

Wasn't too sure about it at first, but I'm really getting into it
What I love about this is that it's still Perfect Dark! Of course, they've improved it.... larger weapons slow you down, and take up more inventory space, and whatnot, but they've avoided making the game too realistic like so many FPS's are these days. I could have cried when I read it was going to be somewhat along the lines of CounterStrike, thankfully this does not seem to be the case - it's still the Perfect Dark we all know and love.

The levels are getting more impressive visually too. The inital crop were nothing special really, but the jungle level in Peru was gorgeous, as wes the desert level I just passed (even if desert levels are just excuses to re-use textures).
Technically, it's nothing that todays top PC FPS's aren't doing, but it's not the point - they just look so plain gorgeous in places.

One thing I did notice - is this using any FSAA at all? Doesn't seem to be, I thought this was a requirement of 360 software.

EDIT - Just completed the game on Agent... did anyone else say 'OMFG is that it?!'? Enjoyed the game, but it's didn't seem anywhere near as long as Goldeneye.

I agree with some of the comments that this game "grows" on you. I have been playing PGR3 mostly and only dipping into this for a change; .. but the more I come back to it the more I really find myself getting over all of the 'negatives' that have been posted and actually start loving the gameplay.

I also have to say that once you get your head around the fact that one-shot-does-not-kill you'll then begin to enjoy the live experience to its fullest!

It's definately a keeper.. and this game is designed to be re-played; not like CoD2 when you kind of complete it (as I did the PC version) you fail to find anything new unless you play online (whereas the console version of the same game suffers badly for online play!)

I totally recommend PDZ for those who are still considering it.. just don't take it too seriously - which the game sure as hell doesn't!

I have a serious problem with co-op mode - it's just so damn good that it makes it impossible to play the single player and have to suffer the stupid AI.

After playing the rooftop level with someone online, its painful to have to put up with Jack's crap tactics of just standing in the open while he's shot at from all sides

Apologies if this has been mentioned, but has anyone else encountered a bug in the ragdoll effects on the enemies where they fly all over the screen, their arm raised as if someone was dragging them? I tried to record it on my cam, but it was too late. I've came across this twice now.

Yeah have seen that, quality rag-doll physics

Finished this tonight on coop. I missed out half the levels but still saw the ending. Ah well, ruined the story but it isn't exactly great in the first place

Multiplayer is really growing on me, but I miss Halo 2's party system.

Well I have to day that I'm really enjoying this. I love the physicality of the weapons, and the alternative fire modes are also cool. I have no complaints about the graphics either, although I'm sure that current PC stuff looks a lot better. I switched the wayfinder hints off straight away, and haven't found the level design or mission objectives to be any problem at all (playing secret agent mode). I don't suppose the AI is top notch, although it does the job for me. Some of the rawk music can be a little irritating, especially given the looping nature. I'm hopefully going to be able to sign up for Live tomorrow, so can't wait to try that. My main gripe is the muffled nature of some of the speech, although I guess this is clearer using 5:1, which I don't have.

Overall, I'm really impressed by this title. I've got COD2 and Gotham on the way, so bring it on : )

Ok, take it all back - i'm completely addicted to PDZ. I haven't played a shooter with this much replayability since the original.

                          PDZ is PD on speed.

Ragdoll physics are all over the place, bouncy enemies etc...

Music glitching on lab level anyone?

Music goes from stealth to action to silence abruptly, then back again etc...

Also, my 360 is shafted - any music coming from the HDD has static blips and fizzes all over it.

                            Nice game though.

So, does it live up to your expectations?

I'm really enjoying it. Single, Co-Op and Multiplayer (Dark Ops) kept me busy msot of the weekend. So much so that I hardly played the other 3 games I got at all. Didn't even take Condemmed out of the packaging.

                                What's dark ops about Soi?

Is there anything like PD with regards to stats and stuff? I loved getting medals and knowing all those little stats that I had built up.
