Okay, you don't like 30 FPS - WE GET IT!!! MOVE ON!!!

Indeed, let's have more praise about Sega rally revo. As I have some opinions about some people in here, I think i'll keep it in my head.

This comes out next friday everyone, good times!

I'm going to give this another blast on my new HDTV and try to get some good lap times going!

Isn't that Halo 3 day? Oops Sega! Every other publisher is avoiding the few weeks around Halo 3 like the plague, so trust Sega to do something like that eh? :P Such a Sega thing to do.

I've played it a few times now, and while it's not bad, it's nowhere near as fun as Outrun2 is,
Halo3 will be arriving next week and short after PGR4 this is a no go for me.
I think they will have a hard time getting some decent sales, even the excellent Outrun2 sold badly.

This is a definite purchase for me, I must have played the demo for a good 3 hours last night, its superb.

I couldn't get away with DiRT, mainly due to the pivot based handling, and the floaty feeling of the cars.

This is aracde style 'quick blast' central.

Can understand how its not everyone's cup fo tea though.

The tracks in the demo really don't do the full game justice. It also definitely feels like Sega Rally - all the old cornering tricks I used to use in the old games work here too. The track deformation also works superbly - this is pretty much what I was expecting from an updated SR game. Top stuff.

I think it's okay. Technically it's somewhat disappointing but it's reasonably fun to play and compared to Dirt's drab, albeit impressive, graphics, this looks nice and happy; though admittedly that view is in all likelyhood borne out of an infection with UKResistance's relentless "Blue Sky in Games" campaign.

I dont know if anyone noticed but eurogamer gave it a 9/10.

If you can't cope with racing games at 30fps then what on earth have you actually been playing over the last 2 years Ah bugger. I'm bound to have offended someone. It was meant as a joke. Thank you Please. I much prefer Forza2 being in 60fps, but I don't care about reading it constantly on the interweb is what I meant.
I personally have little hope of changing the opinion of people who don't mind 30fps.

Talking about it keeps the whole 30 vs 60fps debate alive though, and that's important imo.

If more people start thinking about the issue, and join others in their 60fps stance, devs might actually take notice if forums are awash with 60fps talk.

It would be great if casual gamers started to understand and have an educated opinion on the issue. That would have the biggest impact on developers mindsets.

So, to quite a few people it's an important issue that needs to be addressed, whilst some people don't really care much about it at all. I can understand why it bores some people, but that's life, and it's a that doesn't look like it's going to go away any time soon.

I wish devs would talk about the whole framerate argument, and finally find a way to make solid 60fps games. It's not like a bunch of madmen are demanding 120fps a second ( we are console gamers after all )

We can at least stop the dullness of fps talk on NTSC-uk, and I also don't think dev's could really care about wether their game runs quicker. And it's not as if it will have a big impact on the sales.

I think we should drift away from this fps talk. we keep swerving back into it in this thread.

i'm sorry but this whole framerate chat is drivel.

you don't see people on a film site saying films can only be good if they are mixed in DTS 5:1 surround cos Dolby is rubbish or the aspect ratio must be 2:35-1 as 1.89-1 is crap.

as for talk of educating casual gamers - elitist crap of the worst kind.

casual gamers are voting with their wallets and Wii play has been in the top 20 since xmas. don't recall anybody chatting about FPS on this, its a game and people like it.

sadly i expect this to all rear its head again when PGR4 gets released.

Sega Rally is awesome imo. The handling is perfect, as long as you use hood cam anyway.

Its really SR. Powersliding and awesome cornering. I like this game MUCH more than DIRT.

But again, its typical Sega to badly time the release.. not many people will buy this..

                          Just played this...

Its not like im a massive fan of racing games, I do however think the orginal Sega Rally is one of the best games ever made.

This isnt fun in comparison for me, the handling is far too sensitive, its as bad as some of the Daytona games for the way it plays on a joypad, might be worth it if you have a steering wheel, i dont know as I dont and probabaly wont ever have one, but on a joypad this is really disapointing, even Sega Rally 2 on the DC played alot better than this and thats saying alot.

I've often thought you post some complete rubbish, but that really takes the biscuit. You admit you're unlikely to change people's minds and yet you want to keep talking about the point on the basis that:

                            a) people will come round to your point of view (as you admit - unlikely)
                            b) devs will actually take notice of this forum and do something about it (completely and utterly unlikely)

In fact, all your talk about FPS does is get more and more people to say that they don't give a toss. If I were a developer, all I'd see would be a forum where the vast majority couldn't really care amongst a tiny percentage who can't stop blathering on about it and come across as obsessive nerds.

TBH the very best thing you could do to help your 60fps cause is to STFU.

You should try visiting some AV forums and start talking HD optical... If you think 60fps is anal you wait until you see what those guys consider important.

I'm not technical so i can't comment on framerate. All i know is that when i played the demo i really enjoyed it.

I thought the graphics were good, especially the way the track gets turfed up on the way round, little bits of gravel flying up and like someone else said before, the rumble is used to quite good effect when driving over the tire grooves.

I'd definataly give this a chance when it's released.
