If anything needed Wii controls it's this type of game. No way can you run around with the left stick and select guns with the same thumb.

I like my games hard, as long as the control is viable.

There, you don't need to play the game now.

If the story is any different to that I will burn my pubes outside McDs on a Saturday afternoon.

Jeez! Some people have a really bleak outlook on gaming......

Anyway, I just hope they fix the tearing as it is quite bad. I'm fine with the controls (though moving and shooting would have been nice I guess) and everything else, even the fact that the enemies dissolve away rather than stay on screen. I mean if I allowed issues like that to effect my gaming then I probably wouldn't enjoy many games at all

            Yes to that.

And while I agree with you on the story I'm not so confident as to promise I'll eat my pubes.

Downloaded the demo last night but I'm gonna delete it and go into the game fresh on day 1. Co-op all the way for me.

Can't say I'm not concerned with all the negativity surrounding the demo, particularly from Fallows who I know I have very similar tastes to. Problem for me is that I hold RE4 in such high regard that this was always going to have to go the extra mile to impress, and in many aspects it looks like a lazy retread of RE4.

I'm hoping the finished game is as good as the superb Dead Space which is a top tier game IMO.

my initial impression: the demo sadly lacks in nearly all important aspects: atmosphere isn't that great, shooting doesn't feel as satisfying as in RE4 and the controls feel slightly clumsy, especially if you've played RE4 on Wii.

technically it's ok, but nothing to get excited about. the voice of sheva isn't lip synched, she also doesn't seem to be the most talkative partner.

looking forward to play this co-operatively though - should be a lot of fun.

Got into a bit more of a groove with this now shooting them in the leg, punch and then stomp is pretty satisfying. The stomp feels a bit weak after Gears tho and when you go to do it and they desolve you get a jingle of coins or the click of ammo instead which may as well be a Booooo sound effect. Still not convinced...

I played this for less than five minutes before turning it off. The controls felt horrible and it was tearing in-game and during the cutscenes (HDMI at 1080p). I don't mind having to stand still to shoot but having the left thumbstick do all the movement felt wrong. The graphic and rag doll physics were nice though.

Whatever happened to the old day/night mechanic? Was that dumped? that was a damn fine idea...

During the day you could have full scale steroid-induced kick-off with sweat flying off the characters... at night you could have creeping-around-****-your-panties mode as the infected would be rock hard running and screaming psychos.

This might sound extremely racist.. but the idea of crazy black people hiding in dark corners at night is enough to bring back some atmosphere at least, just seeing the whites of eyes etc before they pop out to cut you up screaming some frantic juju in the process...

Well that would be a good thing imo. I just think they are changing things for the worse here with too many buttons to do too few actions with not a lot of on-screen gratification if that makes sense.

Upper-cutting people through windows is fun... which makes me think they should have just made this like Dead Rising with more melee involved, Chris is deffo beef enough for it. But no, he has to run around slowly like an overweight, overpumped, meat head.

The gun-to-knife-to-other gun transition is mega quick, and makes you think "OMG I can't wait until I get stuck in!!" when you are initially playing around with the controls trying **** out... my word how that changes when you are in the thick of it with ammo to pick up and places to run to at the same time whilst running out of ammo...

Still banging out new classic lines eh Dave?

Hmmmmm.....downloaded this yesterday and had a go last night.I don't like it.The controls are just too clunky for me.I struggled alot with them and why does everything need two button presses to do.Like everyone else when i was playing this i was wishing i could use RE4 Wii controls

i just don't really like the style of the location of this Resi, although the new location screens capcom released the other day look promising. Not saying it needs to always be all dark and spooky i just feel the graphical style of the african setting lacks alot of the flair that the village segments in re4 had for me. I love that area, the look, the feel & the sheer panic!

The demo of RE5 certainly has the panic once it gets going, i just wonder if the move to make inventory management realtime and to have an AI partner is going to lead to a increased feeling of frustration rather than panic.

We shall see soon enough anyway

Just had a quick go of this and thought it was **** tbh.

Very disappointed, the controls are a mess, the camera angle is dire and in general the game is really s-l-o-w.

If I stick with it does it get better, Im not happy as I hearted RE4 big time.
