I'm so glad you quoted that! The misses is starting to get annoyed with me because i keep saying that aloud without really meaning to... It's stuck in my head! I'm trying to hunt out the intro music so i can have it as a ring tone - (it's about time i replaced my House of the Dead Overkill ringtone)

Really pleased you're enjoying it mate. It gets better and better and better until you think it cant get any better then it gets better all over again... Dammit, now i have the boyzone song in my head... *sighs*

is there a way to stop your followers falling off stuff? I've just got to sunflower plains and they keep falling off the ledges, its a real pain having to go back round to get them.

They also don't seem to be able to negotiate stairs to well i end up standing at the bottom and sending them forward one by one half the time.

loving the game despite some of the difficulty spikes and the retreads i find myself doing, being a thirty year old gamer with a child under two i find my gaming time somewhat limited so the trial and error nature of the bosses dose grate slightly.

despite these gripes i cant put it down lovely game.

i've learnt the best way to stop them falling off stuff is to buy and use the single file formation, its pretty reliable and stops the frustration of retreading your steps to get stragglers

The intro is just pure genius, I love it! Infact anytime the game seamlessly transforms into the watercolour style visuals, I can't help but smile a little

Been playing this for a while now and my earlier impressions still stand, this really is a brilliant little game. I just defeated the first boss

          (Cow Bones)

and it was a hilariously fun battle. It wasn't as easy as I though it was gonna be though, I had to run away once to heal up and then come back to complete the battle.

Defeating that boss has really opened up the game more than I expected, so much to do and that is the beauty of it I guess. I can decide how to run my Kingdom and choose when or where to go to battle when I want, the game can be played at any pace you wish. In theory you just spend a day building houses to draw in more citizens or just go around finding treasure.

I love the little touches in the game though, there are so many of them littered around everywhere. I loved the fact that there was a festival after I defeated the first boss with all the citizens running around with

          cow heads

and the that you can heal yourself (and your people) by jumping into a hot bath! The whole Kingdom just feels alive and it is all down to the little details.

The only nitpick would be that the ordering around your people can be a bit fiddly at times but after about 30 minutes of play you should get used to it. The simple controls actually work really well, motion controls might have been more accurate but they might have made this wonderful game feel a bit of a chore to play so I am quite happy the developers didn't go that way. This really is a stunning game, if you have a Wii you really should think about picking this up.

I bought it today (at Tescos for ?24.87, thanks for the tip, Merf!) and I must say I am quite liking it so far.

Though someone mentioned a way to warp back to the castle. It was press minus and press 2, right? Doesn't seem to do anything for me, or do I have to build something special first?

You get that ability a short while into the game (not sure but might be just before or after the first boss), when you press the minus button you will see "2 to return to castle".

the '-' '2' castle warp seems to disappear for me at sometime but then comes back again when I walk round the corner.

I've got about 9hrs on the clock now and started exploring the area full of really agressive chicken things and sunflowers past the first king battle. I really hate it when my men start to cop it and would rather retreat than see them get wiped out

I've found the selecting of the right troops becomming far more second nature, my only prob is the buggers with flower hats on still. They got them from a house I built just over the first bridge you build into the farming area.

I'm up to 18 artworks retrived so far, I love the fact you are seeing somebodies entry for the competition with this bit rather than just generic orb collecting.

Interesting with us getting a big release like this before the states, its making faqs and web info very scarce and forcing us to work it all out for ourselves.

My copy finally turned up yesterday so I got up early to have a game. I can't add anything new obviously, but from the little I have seen already I am impressed. Loving the music, and the fact that everyone doesn't speak English. I don't always like voice acting as the voices used aren't how imagine the characters would speak. I was tempted to be called King Xerxes but ended up with the dull real name option of King Kieran.
The bad news is that I am goinfg away for the bank holiday weekend today so wont play it until monday night.
The game just screams high quality and I smiled in the opening credits as there was the job title of Monster Creator. Thats the sort of job I want.

Whoever put in the necessary possessive apostrophe and accompanying letter "s" in the title of this thread is my new hero.

my top tip for this would be remember to save, and often!! a nights worth of play can be wiped out in a instant if you have a very bad boss battle. seems silly that something as simple as an auto save was omitted in this day and age.

Is there a way to order your followers? If I have a mix of people and need a grunt and he's at the back then I am having send farmers into battle and then call them back.

From what I have read I think you can buy certain formations as you progress through the game, that might help with that little problem.

you press down on the crosspad on the wiimote and it cycles thru the classes you have in your posse, no need to send farmers or carpenters to their doom !

i have the suspicion that people are either missing out or not bothering checking back for Liams tutorial briefings, these really help and as new stuff is added to the game new ones open up in there.
