It gets annoying when you time it wrong and your opponent dodges it leaving her wide open to anything

Reached 100 ranked matches today! Just for some self-esteem I discovered that I'm ranked 850+- in the Nu list

And I cannot rant enough against ragequitters.

Well, I did contemplate typing down the sounds for every part of the combo, but decided it would just be annoying to do XD

I actually have neither. I've only ever played it on friends' PS3s =( I would buy it, but I don't have a PS3 and I'm told the 360 version is region-locked.

As a random aside, if anyone's tired of typing the directions in combos, it seems like the standard form of notation here is numerical e.g down = 2, down-forward = 3 etc. If you imagine a d-pad overlayed on the following your numpad (where 6 is forward) that's basically how the directions are numbered.

It is rather confusing to look at, I suppose, but I just thought I'd throw this out there for people who want an easier way of typing out combos =)

Played for a couple of hours around lunch time today but had to pack it in as I'm currently under the weather and it was making me dizzy! Too much blood flow to the brain with all the excitement I suppose haha.

I had a bunch of matches with one guy 3 levels higher than me who cycled through the complete roster of characters as we played and humiliated me with the majority of them. Seriously, he had combos and strategies for almost everyone - unless he had a squad of players in the room and they were passing the controller around it was seriously impressive. I only beat his Hakumen and Arakune, and those were closely fought.

I got challenged by a level 50 Rachel too whom I nearly beat, so annoying to just lose out in the end of that one. I received a couple more high level challenges but I didn't fancy being the punching bag all day so I jumped out without accepting the match, that earned me a couple more incomplete games on the d-card ><

After beating one Jin I got a PSN message, was hopeful for my first bit of hatemail but just another friendly one - the community has been great in this from my point of view (I know other people have had hatemail though)

I havent got any hatemail yet, but i do send some possitve mail to people if its a close match like "gg" etc, some reply others dont, and one guy who I played, he was nu, he beat me, so i search again and oh its him again, this time, i beat him! wo-ha, so i search again and ill be darned its him again, and he picks jin to mirror me, and he wins again, doh, so i msged him "you are my nemesis!" as well as some other star wars related taunt quotes back and forth, was a nice guy

I looked up his psn name on dustloop.com and hes listed as "banned" hmm, why do i always end up in the dodge crowd

If Arc Sys were ever to release a patch, I'd like them to randomize backgrounds in ranked matches and not assign them to player 2. In a single evening one person can see Nu's background only a give amount of times, just like Jin's background...tonight was full of Jin and everyone used the same color scheme (white hair, black uniform/kimono), I was going crazy.

Just like Arakune then eh? Playing better players improves your game so one day I'll be on the recieving end instead. Learning Hakumen can be a big advantage as although he's slow he's very powerful and can pull back the match after one substantial combo.

And good games Largo, I canme from a streak of winning matches and I was pretty pumped, not to mention that the load of Jin I had to endure last night was of help.
It has been a while since I used Noel and I couldn't remember most of her moves and timings, while I was on drive I was doing thing completely random :P
It was good to see her with hairs out of the hat, though

Or cut away half of your full health bar if you're unlucky to attack while he is performing one of his distortion drives.

This is just an observation, in that, we seem to rely on the same combos (v-13 vs jin), thats why often it can go either way indefinitely, not sure if you noticed this in my play etc.
Anyway its really hard to sort of "break out" of that, i can do the combos and such in training mode, but online i seem to go to pieces :/

Finally got this today guys, probably gonna start playing/learning properly tomorrow. Any tips as to which character(s) I should start off with to ease me into the games mechanics?

Well you could start with ragna etc, hes the games "main character" i guess and a great all rounder, and hes dead cool
