It seems like it's just me but I haven't been enjoying online at all at the moment. Every room I go into there are others already out on quests, why the hell cant we all join in together? Surely when someone picks a quest it should alert the others so they know which one you are on? I've not heard anyone speak or communicate by text. Just seems a bit rubbish really. Don't get me started on the not being able to add people unless they are online and not in a quest. Jeez!

Yeah the room sizes were a strange move by Capcom, having the larger cities meant you could have two or three games going between the same group of friends or players. Sizing it down to four makes the whole thing seem a bit sparse.

Thanks matey, I will try and get on (once the girlfriend has gone to bed!!). Have we as a forum decided where 'our' area will be? Should we pick an area we can all meet at and stick to it? I'm itching to have a proper game with people from the forum who actually communicate and help either via the chat screen or through wii speak (which I will be using btw).

I think it should be one of the Valor servers until they get busier, as there's no point setting a location if no-one wants to be there because it's empty while waiting for others

Just been trying to add people, but you can't message people who are in quests, it seems. That's a bit rubbish.

Have played this a good 15 hours now, done quite a few of the 3 star quests but got to the one where you fight the giant bird thing (forgot its name) and it kicked my bum. It did an attack that seemed to take half my energy off in one hit then another that killed me...

So yeah... he seems quite tough....

Qurupekko? It's a good idea to have armour which is strong against fire, and an ice weapon, but water and electricity are good too.

I think that early into the game, u don't get any element weapons yet (maybe Ludroths sword&shield might be available i'm not sure) and the first fire armour would be qurupeco's one lol.

Just fired this up last night, how bloody counter intuitive is the online service and the actual controller layouts.

I think it will be great when I get into it but my girlfriend and I just hit a wall of frustration trying to sort out our controls and then getting into a game together. It does seem to have a huge learning curve. Possibly why the manual looks like you could beat someone to death with it. :P

I take it there is no way to remap any of the buttons?

I love the explanation of the two different control methods, It says something like.

"Attack with buttons"
"Attack with analogue stick"

I've played Monster Hunter for hundreds of hours over PSP and Wii, and I still sometimes use items by mistake.

Had some fun quests with a few NTSC-ers last night. 4-player underwater fights = immense.

Online is initially mind boggling, for sure, but I'm gradually getting to grips with it all, and it's so, so fun.

Quick question though, how are you guys typing messages so darn fast? Is there a keyboard you can get? Took me an age just to type 'yep' last night.

Unfortunately not. I wish I could use the shoulder buttons to attack, freeing the thumbs to control the character and the camera at the same time...I started out with the second method but you need to swing around the camera while moving, so I reverted to the first control scheme and still getting used on how to combo attacks.

Any USB keyboard should work.
