Anyone else notice this?
Yeah, I've noticed this too, but I've not figured out what causes it to happen, as it doesn't seem to be every time.

Holy feck. Just realised the Switch Axe is the new gunlance. I'm in love all over again

Still loving this, have done all the 1 star quests and all but one of the 2 star quests... I'm actualy a bit intimidated by trying to capture a monster so i have a quick question...

The village chief says I have to weaken it first then throw a tranqulizer bomb at it... is it possible to do this as its limping away or do I need to catch it in a trap first.... I ask becuase catching one thats running away from me (which is what the great jiggi seems to do when he starts limping) in a trap sounds a bit diffuicult....

Beat it down until it's limping, let it run off and follow it. Put a trap down and get it to fall in it, then hit it with tranq bombs. It should take 2 or 3.

You can actually hit it with tranq bombs before trapping it, but best not to if you're playing alone.

I've been tapping B just after I get knocked in the air and this seems recover from the attack faster. Bit like recovering from a knock down in a beat-em-up.

I think it just depends on how the monster hits u, i've never noticed a set pattern as to whether you roll or slide.

It seems they may have increased the drop rate of Rathian Plate in the western release, spent ages farming Rathians in the Japanese one and never got one but got one last night after just two or three runs.

Nisa and another friend got it as well

Also dunno if i'm remembering wrong, but online town rooms seem to have a limit of 4 people as opposed to the 8 in the JPN version.

Yes, the manual states a limit of 4 people inside a town.
Spent few hours with the game yesterday, might pop up online for the first this evening, I hope that I won't be the only noob among hi-class hunters.

I've got the US version arriving beginning of next week (hopefully before I go to USA for a few weeks).

When you get your copies (if you like) send me your online codes.
Same goes to anyone else with the US copy.

The only time I ever wished I had a UK Wii.

                  Finally arrived...

It seems as though the four player limitation is thanks to Wii Speak. I'd rather have eight players cities.

Cities on the Japanese game have a limit of 10 people, except in the recruiting servers where 4 is the maximum.

Ahhh it's a shame they've changed that, was pretty easy finding games with big rooms and much more convenient when playing with alot of friends.

Also noticed the game slows down when you play in a party of 4 in some areas with quite a few monsters, don't think that ever happened in the Japanese version.

Anyone know if some monsters unique to online? I just fought some sort of giant pelican that's yet to show up in single player. If so, that's ace.

I think Jhen (/Dien) Moran and the Alatreon are unique to online, that pelican one is in offline too.

Some monsters you can fight earlier online than in offline.

It seems like it's just me but I haven't been enjoying online at all at the moment. Every room I go into there are others already out on quests, why the hell cant we all join in together? Surely when someone picks a quest it should alert the others so they know which one you are on? I've not heard anyone speak or communicate by text. Just seems a bit rubbish really. Don't get me started on the not being able to add people unless they are online and not in a quest. Jeez!

                              (love the game btw)

Jien Moran/Dien Mohran, Albatorian and Evil Joe/Deviljho are online only.
I love fighting Jien Moran. After going through all the normal missions it was so refreshing to fight that. There are event quests against it too.

The most ridiculous event quest I've played was in the area against Rathalos and Lagiacrus - then Deviljho popped up soon after we'd taken out Lagiacrus! Talk about timing!

I love fighting Deviljho too, it's just so strong.

Also noticed the game slows down when you play in a party of 4 in some areas with quite a few monsters, don't think that ever happened in the Japanese version.
I've had some lag in the past but nothing too severe. Apart from the day when no-one could stay connected. Capcom gave us a bonus day on our HL to make up for it. With online being free, I don't expect anywhere near as good a service.
