Tried to fight high rank Barroth solo to get the final piece of my high rank Rathian armour last night. Thought I was doing alright until Evil Joe turns up from out of nowhere and I **** myself. Needless to say I got my arse handed to me. It's nice that after 100 hours of play time the game can still throw out the odd surprise or two.

On a much lower level, during my first fight with the Great Jaggi, I forgot to paintball it and after a couple of successful skirmishes it went somewhere to lick its wounds...I was wandering the usual places where Jaggis hang but it was nowhere to be found, spent ten or so minutes looking all around and just a few meters before changing area, BAM, here is it.
Took a step forward, loading screen, ran at the center of the new area before replenishing health and dive once again the beast.

Just nipping to the supermarket and I should be online after that (and after making some coffee).

I played with some random folks on the expert server earlier and managed to get my high level Rathian armour. Fought Ratholos offline with it and even his most damaging attacks barely scratched me. The high rank monsters do some serious damage on low rank armour, it's like starting from scratch.

I officially say that I'm tired of Jaggi, Jaggia and Great Jaggi.
While waiting for Kris and Jimtendo to return from their quests, I took a couple of Lv1 gather quests online to do alone...so, yeah, an other Great Jaggi shows up with gathering crystal bones. Quest completed 43 seconds before the end as I stubbornly hunted down the creature, lost its drops because there were too many Jaggia around and broke two mega pickaxes to search for those stones.
Just to complete the "Great Jaggi circle" I completed the online quest to slay one and the offline capture quest.
No more Jaggi, please, whatever their size.
If someone with a US copy is willing to spend some time with a HR3 player to go for a Qurupeco or a Royal Ludoloth...

Yeah, i was pretty much doing the same.
Saw that you guys were in a full room, and when i did send a message, it mentioned that you guys were in quests. So i went a tried to kill time by doing one and hopefully by the time i finished I'd check if you fellas were finished.
It's pure rubbish it discards messages if the recipient is currently on a quest.
And doubly rubbish that you can't ping invites to people on your friends list.Last edited by jimtendo; 04-05-2010, 22:24.

Its best to know exactly how many people are gonna be playing your quest, so you can set it up accordingly.
Its not that hard to hunt great jaggis online with just one partner even if its set to four players, but taking on somthing like a Barroth this way will get you killed, unless youre both awesome.Last edited by rmoxon; 05-05-2010, 01:55.
