It's not the timing of the shield that I have issue with, it's that the shield is of little use if you are successively hit by 2-3 weapons in a row as the shield depletes too fast so it's only really effective against the first weapon. To give Modnation it's credit its a far better set up than Mario Kart uses, but having played a fair set up Mod's can still be annoying.

True, which is why Blur's defensive system would be a good match. It would admittedly be harder to implement into a kart racer but the ability to use the weapons as a defensive strategy beyond 'firing missiles backwards' would potentially be a great improvement for the genre and thanks to Modnations set up, one they could implement easily without breaking the game (and thereby kicking the recent Mario Karts even more into touch)

I've rejigged the map, so if you fellas can check out Mountain Ridge Race Ex and let me know what you think - ratings would be nice
I've taken on board Merf's feedback - the top camber turn round the mountain top is a little easier, there's a bit more room at the top. I've removed the sign that people would get stuck behind (at least I think I found the one you meant). Altered the upwards firing poles - less of them, better spacing. Tweaked one or two road sidings, especially the canyon style at the top of the mountain. And added loads of road cones in the tunnel as I love physics in games

will have another look Matt, be rude not to if you changed based on my feedback !
am starting to love the daily time trials, its back to the hayday of Mario Kart SNES when you knew you could shave your lap, its purely skill based and again shows the finesse in the handling model. they just need to resolve the fact some tracks have glitches in as some of the times are silly occasionally.

I can't get enough of this game. It's telling how good the track design is when after about twenty attempts trying to complete various challenges on Drift Paradise last night, it's now my favourite track. Every new lap should have added to my frustration, but as it is all it did was force me to get better and better each time until I got to the point that I could reliably perfect the course every time - and I loved every moment of it.
I'd be 100% happy with my investment on this game if it were JUST the single player.

not the greatest art-job ever but wanted to put something up to share in a non-crowded market, I give you my Inbetweeners kart :-
Not a very high res pic but the speech bubble is aimed at people at a nearby bus-stop and its meant to be Neil in his trunks driving. Though if you have to say its a bit like the bad impressionist on Britains Got Talent saying ' and here's Frank Spencer ...'

I'm at the second or third race on the fourth tour now, with 100% on all up to that point. I've completed the advance objective on all of the fourth tour though, I'm just trying to get through all of the objectives before heading out for the final tour.
Hopefully I'll have the motivation still to pick up the online after that (Who knows, maybe we'll have a patch by then?), I'm sure I will.

I'm working on another track, against my judgement given the time it takes - as usual with me, it becomes semi-obsessive and what should take an hour ends up growing with each new creationLast one though, I have more important work to be doing!
