If you buy some furniture from Tom Nook you can store things in the drawers, when you put it in your house, or sell all your unwanted possessions to that robbing git, or his son's Tommy and Timmy.

With regards to selling stuffs, the recycle shop will ALWAYS give you more for your items, especially if it's a special price day. I sell my ore when they are giving me extra so make a shedload from that.

FSW: I didn't think we could visit people's towns when they are in standby mode.

Having my gates open and turning off the wifi swtich errored me out the other day, so be wary.

EDIT: Just closed the lid for a few minutes; when I opened it my gates were still open. I suspect it's not actually in sleep mode i.e. my battery will be dead by 4pm lol.
