Duke Nukem Forever - Gold!

Still gutted , I loved Duke Nukem 3D . Still one of the best FPS ever made. Even though I doubt it would have been a patch on it , I was kind of hoping beyond hope , Duke Forever would still be fun and a decent game .

Scott Miller (3DR co-owner) picked up the Prey IP for his new company Radar Group. People keep looking to him for a statement, but it?s starting to look like him and George parted ways a while back - he can?t be seen in the 3DR picture.

Basically, Take Two don't own the IP rights, so they can't make a Duke game themselves. But this particular game can't go to another publisher without that publisher buying out whatever contract Take Two have.

It's dead. The franchise simply isn't big enough for a new publisher to get involved.

Remember, many 2009 gamers are so young that they simply don't know who Duke even is.

Considering how far and fast the news spread (not to mention the response) I?d be surprised if nobody?s pursuing the IP/source code.

I didn't expect much from this title, and it looks dated graphically, it's a real shame if we don't get to at least see it. All that hard work and effort, all that time, it must have had something going for it.

Im sure the game will leak onto the net at some time or another. Just look at half life for the dreamcast.

LOL. Well I'd have played it, but it does look horribly dated! Which is to be expected really. The whole thing looks heavily scripted, there's a lack of enemies, can't judge the graphics by it obviously but the animation did look pretty good on Duke, while the hit animations / ragdolls of the enemies looked poor. Couple of nice enough ideas in there still.

Hope more footage appears in decent quality.

Its a shame this never came out at a more appropriate time as I think it would've been warmly received. Its not like it would've been as bad as Daikatana or anything.
