Auto.

Basically, DVD's and Blu-Rays are encoded on the disc in YCpCr format (whereas games are usually RGB).

When set to Auto, DVD's and Blu-Rays will run in YCpCr format, to avoid the extra conversion to RGB.
Not all displays support YCpCr (I think it was introduced in HDMI 1.2?), the PS3 will detect and adjust accordingly.
The Bravia appears to support YCpCr, I'd imagine the WLT68 does.

(fyi, Component was introduced because of this, as Component uses YPbPr, the analogue varient, it was intended for use on DVD Players).

Thanks for the near instant reply dude. Ive left it as it was and ive tried playing some dvd's and im happy with the results. Sin City on DVD first time i tried it when i got my PS3 was god aweful, but now looks suprisingly better.

Just watched Batman Returns in 1080i wow the scaler in this is amazing

Agreed. No need to buy the Matrix Trilogy on HD-DVD for me. The normal DVDs look great in the PS3

The DVD upscaling is certainly very nice, I prefer it to my Oppo in fact, though since my PS3 is R1 locked, I still need my Oppo for my R2 JPN and PAL discs.

Game upscaling, my TV does a much better job, but it all depends on what TV we have I guess.

Apparently this app has just been updated to allow H.264 streaming to the PS3.

I've got the us version but can't play it since my ps3 is Jap. Does the game look good enough to purchase again just to play it in 720p?

btw, i tried shadow of the colossus and it looks fine. I wouldn't exactly say it was amazing but it was... clear. no blurrines or anything.

Definately, for a while at least. Then it went quiet again. ICO is bearable now, which made me happy. Finally get to play it!

A lot seem to be saying that too.

I think it is louder, but I can still only hear if when I have nothing running. It's not like the 360 where is drowns out my HD-DVD's.

Does anyone have a list of a few applications that can provide the stream. I am currently using TwonkeyVision. It's ok but I would prefer something free and functional.
