360 Issues thread

    Still waiting for my Xbox 360 to come back from MS support....do you think they will replace or repair it? This is the first time I have had to send it back since launch day....I hope they just give me a new console....

    Also....is there anywhere you can check on the Microsoft website the status of your console?

      My 360 is back! Picked up last tuesday, arrived today. Pretty good turnaround
      Manufacture date is 01/07/06 too, so hopefully it'll be a little more reliable.

        Yay UPS man just arrived back with mine as well. Had it returned to work though so can't really open it up and test it till I get home about 6.30 tonight....oh well fingers crossed eh.

          Well having inspected the Xbox360 they returned to me it does look as though it is a brand new machine, manufactured only last month! Blimey! Having played Just Cause for a good 3 hours solid I have had no hitches whatsoever so hopefully this one is a keeper

            3 red lights for me.

            Now i cannot get to speak to anybody. Microsoft's customer servive line is nuts. Sometimes its engaged, sometimes i get past the first set of options then its engaged, sometimes it even says "this number is not available".

            I just hope i can get this sorted before pro evo 6.

              None of the 7 Toys R Us stores in my vicinity have a premium pack in stock, which is a bummer, as they were willing to exchange it with no problems. They didn't know when they'd get more in stock though, so I've gone down the Microsoft route now. Waiting for the UPS man to come get it, which should be in the next couple of hours...

                A pity Toys r Us didn't have one for you to change over right there and then, it's good to hear they were willing to help.






                I got staright through to MS support tonight , however they were supposed to have called me back yesterday but didn't.

                Having gone through the fault checking process again and explaining that my console is NTSC-J, they have agreed to repair it free of charge as an under warranty repair.

                The only sticking point is they don't know what will happen if they are unable to repair the console, but out of courtesy they have agreed that they will contact me first before sending out a replacement. This will at least give me some warning if the replacement's a PAL console and I can decide what to next.

                    Well I've joined the three-ring light club at last, although it booted fine after I switched it off after the flashing. Let's hope it's not downhill from here on.

                      I'm supposed to be sending mine away today or tommorrow and I might be regretting this decision as yesterday she behaved herself really well. Only one lock up.
                      I worry that I might get a worse unit back that may not work with HDD properly etc.

                      Am I doing the right thing in getting a minor fault fixed?

                          I have been waiting FOUR WEEKS for them to send mine back. Also the cs line is now the worst i have ever experinced what the hell happend to getting thorugh to someone who speakes english.

                            I actually found it easier on the phone than trying to read that.

                              I've been waiting 2 months for Microsoft to send me a working replacement for my US Xbox 360 . It broke just after Dead Rising arrived. Sent it to them at the start of August for repair or replacement and was promised a US version back (paid the fee aswell). A few weeks later they sent me a Pal 360... Phoning them is uselesss, takes about 30 mins to get through, then they just make excuses and never do anything about the problem. Email them and they just tell you to phone, write and they don't reply.

                              If you have a US or Jpn Xbox 360, my advice would be don't bother sending it back to Microsoft in the UK for repair. As your'll probably never see your machine again, at best get a UK 360 in return and lots of hassle.

                                Still no reply form cs manager that was to post ring back within 48 to 78 hours i rang last friday. got to say they cs services as gone down hill
