I watched the weather video early this morning and although it's terrible quality you just know from what they have there that the the rain and snow is spot on in the game.
Read a translation from the show on GT Planet and motorbikes will be added after launch if there is enough demand. Weather includes fog and everything is affected by dynamic temperature, humidity including the surface of the road.
EDIT:
The weather bit will need clarification but I don't know if that just means puddles on tarmac or if it's changes on the rally tracks.Last edited by JP; 16-09-2010, 09:28.

A few more details from GT Planet from the invite only event:- Laguna Seca has been completely rebuilt and will return for GT5. Trial Mountain has also been confirmed.
- ?Gran Turismo Anywhere? will allow you to manage B-Spec races, right from your computer. You?ll be able to hold B-Spec races with your friends from anywhere in what are called ?Remote Races?.
- GT5 will feature a series of special events such as the Karting Experience, the AMG driving school, The Stig Challenge, Jeff Gordon NASCAR School, Sebastien Loeb Rally Challenge, and Gran Turismo Rally.
- Point-to-point rally stages will be automatically and randomly generated ? you?ll have to depend on your co-driver to give you the best instructions about the road ahead.
- Rally mode can be played either on or offline.
- Weather changes include temperature differences, air pressure changes, and humidity, affecting the surface conditions of the track dynamically.
- Weather conditions are randomized. Forecasts for your race will be available but may not be entirely accurate, just like the real world.
- Polyphony Digital has helped Red Bull Racing?s Adrian Newey design the X1 Concept ? an ?ultimate? racing car, free of any technical regulations.
- Polyphony Digital has worked to improve engine sounds.
- Yamauchi admits that, in certain situations ? such as standing race starts in the rain with 15 other cars on the screen kicking up spray in front of you ? the game may not be able to hold 60FPS. Otherwise, it will strive to hold 60FPS as often as possible.
- The Volkswagen Kubelwagen, which has a drive system like the first beetle, and the amphibious Volkswagen Schwimmwagen will be in the game.
- Many things didn?t make the cut in Gran Turismo 5, and work on Gran Turismo 6 has already begun.

I'm still waiting for a Clean HD version of the TGS Trailer but this rally video has just surfaced.
If the rally segment is fleshed out with a good variety of Premium cars to drift around in, then I'll be in the course creator mode for a long time! Although Polyphony have had to cut down on scenery for the custom tracks, I love the scenery and locations they've chosen to do it in.

I know it's a really poor shot but even in such a poor state the rain on the windscreen, the way it runs down the glass and how the wipers brush it aside could almost pass for real.
I love the shot around 12 seconds when the car out of the tunnel on the Eiger Nordwand track into the rain and the shot just before that where they show the difference between clear and foggy conditions.
I was cautious at first but I'm really looking forward to the Rally sections and track creation now. So far they've shown just four different themes/locations with hopefully more to follow even if they release track themes as DLC. Think of the variations that are possible with those themes and then start to think about further customisation due to being able to create tracks and set the races at any time of the day or night as well as being able to add rain, snow and fog into the mix and there's so much variation there even if they don't expand on the four themes/locations.
Admittedly you're not getting the actual locations but with it being possible to create tracks up to 10k long as well as looped tracks for the Super Special stages it really has the potential to be a decent rally game. It's all down to the cars they include I think but they've already said that street cars can be built up to race spec with race colours so there really shouldn't be any issues even if they're not the current WRC which are a little limited compared to how they used to be anyway.

The embargo is over and the official Gran Turismo 5 site has been updated. It now includes the weather video and details on the brand new Red Bull/Polyphony Digital developed X1 Prototype.

It's been a quiet few years for Videogame petrol heads but over this next month, we're going to be getting F1 2010 & Gran Turismo 5.
Although I adore Ridge Type 4, Outrun 2, Project Gotham 4, Daytona USA and all... I can't see GT5 being anything other than the most complete and diverse Motorsport Videogame ever released.
After that TGS trailer allaying any fears, this will be the longest wait for a game since Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion.
More screenshots.
