    Front end is looking nice.
The one on the left is acting all "street" and the one on the right has just stepped out of a salon!

Gotta say, I'm getting mega excited about the potential of PES 2011. I've put a fair few hours into WE2010 Aoki Samurai to the stage where going back to FIFA 10 feels really weird.

Come on, Konami!! You can do it this year!!

I'm actually more pessimistic about the build up. And that's not aimed at ezee, but we've heard it all before haven't we? If I was some 12pm yr old hype monkey I'd probably be pre ordering it already.

When I say I am cautious I guess it's more like being an optimist with experience? I dont want to be pessimistic as I know Konami have the potential to turn out a stellar PES game but we just havent seen that fully realised in past years... over to you Konami.

To be fair FIFA has improved steadily in recent years but still hasnt reached the enjoyment of PES in its prime. It's been great but has always felt shallow in some areas. PES though I almost get the feeling Konami has been trying out lots of different ideas in recent years with very mixed results and still hasnt found the balance.

It's as though people enjoy bashing an unreleased game or something? There will be a demo, judge for yourselves if it's any good.

I'm cautious, and FIFA 11 is getting my pre-order, but if PES 2011 is good as well it'd be be great. No reason we can have two excellent football games to play.

WENB podcast - Interesting stuff. Features several people talking about their time with the game and how the game has changed in surprising ways i.e taking time to get used to. Keepers are talked about too.

I know this won't go down well but those WENB folks are (self-professed) Pes fanboys. The previews/reviews from them for 2010 were all good and yet now they are slagging it off saying how broken it is.
Only way to know for sure is when the demo arrives I guess.

You can't blame people for being cautious after the last few shambles.

I will buy this game as it will means first game I bought since PES 6 (I think) and going for PS3 version. I will buy Fifa 2011 on 360.

You mean like where you've quoted me, and I've said "I'm cautious"?

I'm just suggesting that people appear to be happier bashing a game pre-release based on the past than waiting to try the demo. It would be bloody lovely in PES could "come back" and give FIFA competition.

Just like with PES, if FIFA doesn't get competition, it'll stagnate!

I trust Ezee on this, if he says it's back, it's back. He stands nothing to gain from it and he's most certainly not promoting it in any way.

It's cool to hate PES these days I guess

It's not that I don't trust Ezee or any of the positive previews, it's more the fact that I've always found PES the sort of game that shows its true colours after a few weeks of play. I actually love PES2010 despite its problems, but it's been something I've warmed to gradually (much like WE10 which I didn't even like at first compared to WE9LE). On the flipside of that I strongly remember playing 2008 and 2009 on release all day long with a friend and loving it only to grow to dislike it over time.

Which is a bit like my feelings on FIFA 10 right now. Initally I was impressed by it but I play it now and I struggle to enjoy it if I'm honest. Lobs are too easy, freekicks seem to go in waaaaay too often, goalies are irratic and headers are useless. Then there's the cheap stuff that people do online like dipping a corner full power onto the back post or putting a long throw onto the crossbar for an easy rebound tap in. Most goals my club team concedes online are either a freekick, lob or one of those 2 'glitch' setups

Anyway, the point I'm trying to make is that, due to nature of dealing with so many variables, with any football game you need to spend alot of time with it to determine its quality. It's great hearing good things about PES2011 but until I've logged about 100 matches myself I will remain cautious

The keepers in fifa world cup are fixed though. Lobs are hard to come by now. That is a fact.
Anyway has any more pes footage surfaced yet?

The impression I get though is that if PES returned and Fifa became poor, nobody would be so desperate for it to get better.

Why don't FIFA10/WC keepers come for simple balls? Instead they moonwalk side to side in confusion ball watching when they could of easily prevented a pea rolling ball from going for a corner. This is when asking them to come out too.

I hope they've sorted that out. Have to say, FIFA11 is looking and sounding sweet this year.

Two great footy games this year? Hope so.

On the Fifa forum, fans are just as skeptical about Fifa 11 as we are about PES. A few of the more intelligent ones(trust me there aren't many!), are all looking to PES also so it is a good sign that EA also need to pull their finger out.

Anyway I think Hoolak is correct in saying two great football games. Can't see it being any other way.
