I don't think so at all. I see where you are coming from but ultimately I control exactly where I pass the ball and when I shoot etc so yes I control the game.

You sure? Animations are scripted in a sense and when the game allows you to attack a low-ish ball, too far away to kick being zipped across the 6-yard box with a theatrical flying header, you go "oooooh". PES has always allowed this. FIFA seems a bit more strict or doesn't let you try to attack such a ball even when it is too far out of the player's reach.

The game does have rules in place. Both in different ways. The amount of missed flying headers in PES is astronomical. All of them bring a smile to all faces everywhere.

Hmm not really sure how accurate this is. Many times my players on fifa try to diving header (or volley) a ball that never reaches them. Also try using the fake shot on pes to trick the keeper. He never ever dives. On fifa its entirely possible to fake the keeper out. Has this been changed??
And I am right in hearing that PES doesnt have the advantage rule in it? Im sure it used to???

Well for me, and I play FIFA a lot, A diving header is a bloody rarity. I have scored some great volleys, but I think (and I hope they've sorted it) that the FIFA devs need to work on how players deal with hitting a cross first time. Far too many times I see payers want to not hit it first time or chesting it first. Lots of times where I say, "why didn't he just hit it first time?".

I don't remember ever scoring with a diving header in the last two FIFA games if I'm honest! Scored more overhead kicks that diving headers!

Its true, but in real life how many diving headers do you see? Maybe one every 100 matches?? I'd say it reflects real life pretty well. Though I have never scored an overhead kick on it!

I get where you are coming from, but I've played well over 100 matches over the past two FIFA's!

I think both games are shaping up very very nicely this year, might be back to buying two footy games again! That'd be soooo good!

Well I never scored a diving header on Fifa 10 until last month and then I scored one on WC2010 the next day. The first time shooting on Fifa can be a pain but that is something I only struggle with online.

Not had any dodgy goalie moments in the matches I've played tonight, had a few people over to play it with. Lots of complaints about the passing being ****, not from me, but from these casual friends of mine! Explained it to them and noticed their game improve immediatly. It's a big thing, needs getting used to. Defending needs alot of work now if you want to be good at it. It's a nice change as your defenders no longer swarm opposing forwards and miss timed tackles can give players a chance to get passed you. It makes defending more thoughtfull and attacking is alot more fun as you can have some amount of confidence in moving the ball forward without being surrounded and forced to pass.

I still can't do freekicks, if anyone knows how to take them let me know! I've been holding up during the kick and it doesn't seem to lower the ball much.

Also, the ball curves slightly too much. I've seen light, ground passes swurve like crazy and it looks really odd.

What about the passing needs explaining? I understand defending has changed but what's different about the passing?

The passing seemed very powerful and hard to control accuracy, I'm not even sure if they're pressure sensitive.

Graphically ingame...glad its a demo as it looked ropey as hell with bloody Jaggies too.

I didn't come away from the demo very impressed. (I'm not a fifa fan having a go at Pro, I prefer the fluidity on all pro games to Fifa tbh)

Looking in the general direction of another player and pressing X once wont cut it anymore, the ball will go where your left stick is pointing once you release X. you can also adjust the power of the pass. You can pull off some nice through balls with X.
