Smash Brothers has me interested, but as they've already said they're doing a 3DS version, I'll probably stick with that.

I'm not sure where this WiiU is going to go, and I guess we'll have to wait for TGS to find out more.

Yes, it's weird. Plus who are they kidding with this scenario of someone else coming in the room and wanting to watch TV? People have more than one TV these days Nintendo. It's not 20 years ago.

I don't get why people are getting so befuddled by the Wii U. It's a really simple design that effectively solves a problem that never existed

Nah, surely the Wii U streams to the controller or connects to the TV or does both at the same time.

Maybe the console they didn't really show was a mock-up as there isn't a final design yet?

From the actual system hardware. The controller is just that a controller.

When they mentioned appealing to hardcore gamers I was half expecting a load of class Treasure/Platinum Games goodness....

i'm not sure what to think about all this... new system, i should be excited. but i'm not really. the conference as a whole was a bit of a let down i think.

was skyward sword the only wii game shown? and not shown much either.

a few 3DS games, that we already knew about apart from luigis mansion... which should be nice.

Wii U is a terrible name, and i'm not really convinced this controller is a great idea yet. (3ds style circle pads instead of proper sticks too?) smash bros hinted, which imo is one of the most over-rated games ever. and tons of third party stuff, which will surely be out on other consoles before this is even released.

that birdy tech demo looked lovely, but imo the wii has been disappointing, and the 3DS isnt that interesting yet. i may not rush into a purchase a third time in a row.

I'm not just being a negative nelly am I... Nintendo really fecked up that unveiling didn't they?

I'm not excited for it at all. I was buzzing this morning...

Yep, during all this controller malarky the Wiiu console is powered up and quietly doing all the grunt work.

Little late to the party & just watching the feed now but I'm mega impressed with the 3D effect they got on the HUGE screens...now if only Nintendo would make TV's that could do that without glasses.
