Yah, they already commented that Bayonetta 2 wouldn't of happened if it wasn't for Nintendo funding it, so that seemed safe to assume.

OS-X/iOS is the platform we use at home for mot of our hardware and it's not as if there's never been hardware issues for Apple or Nintendo.
The things you mention aren't mutually exclusive and given a choice I'd rather have a system that opened up the tools for developers even more by the increasing the ability of new hardware. Power is not the sum total of advancement but things have never evolved by doing what is safest.
It seems with what you're looking for ideally you have three real options moving forward:- Don't buy new hardware as they're always going be a risk of issues as things become more complex.
- Only buy Nintendo consoles as statistically they should be more stable but that's understandable when they're willing to use hardware of a level that's already been used by other companies for over five years.
- Buy a couple of these fellers as there's a lot less to go wrong when you choose not to complicate things needlessly by advancing the technologies being used.

Oh for crying out loud ....
The stupid thing is Amazon are sending out physical copies (which work fine by all accounts) and it appeared on the eShop overnight and has since been taken down. However some people have been able to download it!!
Obviously there is a bug somewhere that needs sorting out, but still Nintendo's 'annus horribilis' continues and its only Feb.
Hopefully this will get sorted very quickly.

It would of been interesting if Nintendo had taken an n64 approach to the wiiU and made the graphics card modular, when the new Sony and ms consoles are out you can simply insert a new more powerful graphics unit. Of course the n64 was just a booster option but the concept worked, delivering games like perfect dark on a console that wouldn't have been able otherwise.
Could of worked for the Wii U too.

Turok 2, donkey kong 64 and majoras mask were amazing titles putting that extra ram to good use.
Awww, I miss the 64 when it was new and fresh. I remember rewatching the star64 trailer countless times an being utterly blown away by mario 64, ocarina of time and goldeneye. . Turok was my first n64 experience.... seeing that monkey run up a tree was a very special moment! Such an awesome system

Though just when you think there over, along pops a game like Mario galaxy to remind you just what Nintendo are capable of all over again.

It is surprising that nothing similar has been done since, though.

Ah yes! I remember looking up firing that beast of a weapon, setting the sky on fire. Good times. The chain gun was awesome too.
I used to love reading games magazines. I used to collect the N64 mag, they had some very good writers back then. Good times
I agree about galaxy. Roll on pikmin 3
