No. It’s not been confirmed. I have no idea how some of the games would work without analogue triggers, making a GameCube controller an essential purchase if you want to play those games.

No need to keep the OG Switch Lite around if the OG Switch 1 models are still going to be around.

I'm going for Feb reveal at the moment so that it doesn't feel too harsh a whiplash to Xmas buyers and drown out the marketing for DKCR HD
Seeing the chance of Blue/Red joycon combo looking likely again is a bit odd, it's recognisable I guess but tired and doesn't differentiate it muchLast edited by Neon Ignition; 14-12-2024, 17:12.

Just stop reading the rumours and it'll be released before you know it.

I'm sticking with my view that it'll be March for the reveal.
It will be really cool to finally see it but I don't think it is going to be much of a departure from the Switch 1 anyway. I'm still hoping it includes some kind of interesting wildcard feature but other than that I think it will be business as usual. What will be interesting to see from a more academic perspective is how much of the new software is actually Switch 2 exclusive, or if they adopt the same approach as Sony and Microsoft and release all/almost all of their next gen launch software on the previous machine as well.
The Switch 1 is actually very technologically limited by 2024 standards (although an awful lot has been wrung out of it over the years by clever devs) so there's a chance there might be something that was too challenging to satisfactorily backport.
