Confirmed this morning not in Japan, so there must be some ongoing knowledge of the lawsuit already for them to do that.

I guess Japanese businesses have a little more on honour , ie you don’t fight on your home turf?

regardless is still keeping it in the news and will help with sales. I should expect.

I enjoy the games but they're not replayable and much like Days Gone will be if it's true, Sony's wasting Nixxus on this stuff.
Have you looked at the PS4 version of Zero Dawn compared to the PS5 remaster? It’s night and day the bump.

And I’m not talking about a perfectly ligned up shot from a PC that has the best cpu, gfx and the best capture card money can buy, just the bog standard ps4 version.

Worth it for people like me that still haven’t gone through Zero Dawn.

More likely the patents they’re being sued over are Japanese and not worldwide, i expect.

Yep, to me it's a small notch improvement. There's a clear improvement to the amount of detail in comparison shots and the lighting has been changed to make the game brighter (in several areas for the worse) but the telling thing for me is that side by side you can see the remaster usually looks better but without the remaster sitting at the side the original looks like perfectly good. If I hadn't played Zero Dawn, like yourself, then I'd absolutely go straight to the Remaster but as someone who'd be replaying it again it's a title that remains at the peak of the hill of games that least need the treatment. Sony's a little too focused on its most recent hits, there'd be some value in giving this treatment to older hits that are showing their age more and especially ones that aren't already ported to PC too.

They have been sued, and from what was made publicy available, Nintendo didn't seek a stop to sales until the final verdict. Even if they did, PocketPair wouldn't have had to until a judge ruled so.
Also, if Pokemon is involved, I really doubt patents aren't global.

Anyway, Lunar! The only question is which version they'll use as base. My guess is the PSP version due to widescreen. Disappointed it's not a proper remake like Star Ocean, but...it's GungHo.

Zero Dawn looks like a dog’s dinner now running at 30fps, it’s a blurry mess.

These days anything looks nice in photo mode static, it’s running that counts, and I think this is where PS5 pro will really shine.

PC players can fight against it or not play the games, shrugs, i don’t get it, PC players happy to let MS, Valve, Epic have your data, but Sony are now the devil, its hilarious.

                          Oh sorry, boooooo Sony boooooo

I’m not that bothered I’m just bemused why you would need it for a single player game, seems daft.

The upgrades in the vid are lovely. I’m pleased they didn’t go overboard and beautify Aloy.
I’ve already completed this twice, looks like it’s going to be a third now

Here's why people don't like aside from collecting and selling your data as normal

For me the differences in these Sony remasters of recent games feel incredibly minor.

But with that said, if it's not of interest it's not really worth moaning about and it's cool for those that are either big fans keen for a replay or who haven't gotten around to it yet.

You can see why they make commercial sense, too. While it would be cool if they devoted development resource to a fully 4K VR immersive reality version of Jumping Flash 2 instead, you can realistically knock these remasters out one after another cost-effectively by adding some additional effects and tweaking lighting etc, and it gives the game very valuable renewed commercial life.

It's not really a new idea, either. There were half a dozen versions of SF2 with minor differences, and releases like Resident Evil: Director's Cut on PS1 didn't add much (except some very strange music as I recall).
