They could at least make it not a buggy resource hogging pile of rubbish, just over 10% cpu, 211 ram, would make Chrome blush. Every single company bringing this type stuff to steam gets similar backlash, why should Sony be immune. It's half the reason i'm undecided on the next monster hunter, put up with Capcom usually poor PC ports and the resource hogging DRM or get the PS5 ver where i won't be able to mod slot gems when the grind gets to much.

Will it be playable offline, what happens in the future when PSN services get changed?
Its a paid update so its not on IMO, if it was free that would be another story.

Well in all fairness, the other day I seem to remember you saying you wouldn't buy a single player game that had an online requirement. Which is kind of a similar thing if not identical.

My view on this stuff is there's no point trying to fight city hall. It's not worth the energy to get upset over what is basically a relatively minor inconvenience.

Looks like pre orders are going up at 10am tomorrow, but honestly, I don’t really trust that.

Amazing how Sony is still being so coy about the cost of the Anniversary Pro. New Zealand was the first to see pre-orders go live and it's hard to determine an exact UK price point based on it but £999.99 is looking the likely landing spot at the moment

For the standard PS5 Pro, approaching two hours in and no sign of selling out yet anywhere.

Australia launch has happened - Anniversary sold out in a little over 30 seconds, price point still suggests a UK £999.99 point

Standard Pro, like New Zealand - Only initial territories but more time is passing and there's no sign at all so far that it's selling out fast outside Amazon. Might bode well for the UK orders in the morning though those will be PR tainted by the limited PS Direct preorders over here.

Mini update 6hrs later to somewhat reassure those looking to pick one up:

PS Direct Sites in some countries are experiencing high traffic and automated queue systems hours before preorders go live. This seems to be driven solely by the demand for the Anniversary Pro which has sold out everywhere and is already appearing in ebay listings for $3000

For those who manage to order it, anticipate £999 or above and some countries are reporting targeted delivery dates of 21 November, 2 weeks after the regular model

It's been 6 and a half hours since rollout began and the regular PS5 Pro remains easily available so still little sign that it will be hard to get hold of for those keen to secure one.

Not a huge fan, visuals look fine but the lighting changes in many scenes spoil a games tone that was already borderline for tension

Pity. I enjoyed them. The multiplayer was really good and varied and chunky with thumping atmospherics and sound, especially KZ2.
