Yeah, fair to say it is HD ready, although if you're buying a HD ready screen, then I would just pay the extra anyway and get a better one like the Sammy.

Yeah especially as there seems to be another model which is 27" and is ?550, same specs as the one everyone has now.

I understand that it is all subjective and you get what you pay for, but all the reviews on the net are for the Dell W2600 when it cost ?1000.

I've seen this lcd first hand and can honestly say (having played extensive PC PES 5 on it) that the smearing is very little and no more evident than either of my 14ms and 8ms lcd's.

I'm pretty sure that different manufacturers have different methods of measuring and quoting response times.

I remember reading a group test of true response times for lcd's on 'Tom's Hardware', the manufacturers had quoted response times of between 14 and 25ms, however, they all topped at about 25ms and all dipped to between 10-15ms dependant on conditions.

Maybe, Dell are just being truthful?

I realise that it's no match for a Sony Bravia or such, however not everyone has ?700 to put to a new hdtv. It's now a cheap and easy way of getting HD ready and it'll be absolutely fine with the 360.

Comments such as 'blurry as heck' without any first hand experience of this lcd are entirely misleading and inaccurate.

          This one, right?

One question about it. It has a VGA socket, and only way to use a component source is to use a Component>VGA adapter, does this mean that the VGA socket can only be used for either VGA or Component and not both simultaneously?

yes as you can only plug one thing in at a time!

One thing to bear in mind chaps, spend the money on decent interconnects:

1: The 360 cables are good quality
2: Use QED cables for everything else
3: Spend the money on a high quality kettle power cord and make sure that your TV is plugged directly into a wall socket and not through 4ways or double adaptors.

Also ensure that your route your power cables away from the signal cables.

Getting a decent power cable make my screens look alot better.

I know this sounds a little silly, but is there a VGA & Component Splitter?

What about the cord that comes with your telly? Surely it must be good enough?

anyway, whilst we're on the subject of plugs, I had a small question. I've got 3 pairs of plug sockets in my room, but 2 of them can't be used as they're sirectly above my bed. So, I've plugged in a belkin surgeprotector 8 way extension, and plugged all my PC and TV into it.

however, I still haven't connected any other consoles up, like my GC, the 360 etc. so do you think I should be OK to just plug in another 8 way surgeprotector into another plug in the same socket and have it run all my other stuff? Will the socket be able to handle all this?

Sorry if it sounds like a dumb question

The cables that come with your screen/tv are typically the cheapest crap that you will find.

As long as you are connecting it to the socket and _not_ do the other 8 way it wll be fine.

So basically, it's not recommended to run all my equipment through one socket, using 2x 8way surgeprotectors?

                        not that I've seen.

What you'd be best to do would be to get a component VGA able like this:

Bang your TV into component mode

Plug it into a component switcher box and use component for all your consoles.

This is how I have my setup at the moment.

                          i've just found this

i know nothing about this kind of tv thing so i need some help

i want an HD tv for next gen loveliness but i don't want to pay a fortune for one

this seems a good price but i need your expert opinions

will this be ok for xbox 360 (i won't be using it for normal tv)?

will it be ok for running my computer through?

can i have both my 360 and computer plugged into it at the same time?

do i need any extra hardware for my computer to be able to get it to run through it?

like i say, i'm a real novice at this kind of thing so any help would be much appreciated

How much does that switch box cost?

That's a mighty switch box for sure. I've never had any problems with my cheapo YPbPr Power Box mind.
