      Me too (is that four??)

I really really enjoyed Cap last year definitely a highlight for me.

In fact I've loved all the Marvel movies building up to the Avengers they have all been brilliant to watch & great action films.

I'm so excited about Avengers Assemble *groan* (I'm never getting used to that title)
Think this may just be my film of the year.

      Roll on April!!!

Agreed, First Class was good. I think that had more to do with Fassbenders portrayal of Mags though. The Nazi hunting intro was excellent. What I dont get was why he never killed Kevin Bacons character earlier, like after he killed his frickin mum!

Joss Whedon talks about... The Avengers... 2! Saying that the best way to approach the sequel would be:

"By not trying to. By being smaller. More personal, more painful... By being the next thing that should happen to these characters, and not just a rehash of what seemed to work the first time. By having a theme that is completely fresh and organic to itself."

No no, that does seem to make sense. But lets get this one out of the way first.

Really? Im pleasently suprised, seeing as you complained that you thought all the Marvel things so far were small scale I'd think youd want a sequel to this to be bigger, not smaller.

I find this kind of reaction to the film hard to believe, even if you didn't like it there are surely worse films out there.

Captain America was really fun and was one of those films that transcended its simple blockbuster roots by being both a commercial AND a critical success, the reason for this was not only that it was a massively crowd pleasing movie but it was well made and acted as well. It was a GREAT film. Probably the best Marvel film so far.

LOL, no way was it GREAT. It was ok, enjoyable in some parts and lacking in others. Red skull was horribly underused IMO. Unlike the unnecessary 3d bits, complete waste of time and just serve as a distraction. Plus the movie ends quite flatly as the Cap gets frozen.

See, i thought Red Skull was used well and I thought the end was done well, the only thing i didnt like about the ending was that it had pretty much ended but then they felt the need to have him unfrozen stright after he was frozen to set up for the Avengers. They should have had him unfrozen at the Start of the Avengers film as leaving on a cliff hanger would have been more satifying. This is somthing I actually said on here before any of us saw the film becuase I knew how anti climatic freezing him then having him unfrozen stright away would be.

None of that really alters the fact that its a really well made and entertaing film that got many things right and felt like the Captain America movie that I didnt think we would ever really get. I was actually suprised how great it was especially considering that, as we all know, it was only ever made as a set up for the Avengers film.

Possible major spoiler in link, see below for details

Joss Whedon Discusses Avengers Final Edit

Speaking about the film again Joss Whedon has said that the rough cut came in at around 3 hours long but he's trimmed it down to a final run time of around 2hrs 15 minutes. Though the cut scenes might appear on disc as extras he's ruled out having an extended cut release done at a later time, citing the cinema version as his definitive one. He also rules out the Kree and Skrulls again saying that they have too much mythology to fit into a film that already has to contend with so many leads.

Possible Major Spoiler for Avengers-Iron Man 3 Connection

A report from Latino Review, which regularly has reliable movie tidbits, says that in Avengers Captain America will give Stark the idea of using nanbots to recreate the super soldier serum. This will set up the storyline for Iron Man 3 which will take its cue from the 'Extremis' mini-series giving Stark new powers.
