But the ANN article says they are interested. There's an interview they held with the head guy at BONES after the incident and he said it's not been decided on yet and that they are interested in doing them.
They've (ANN) said they'll post the rest of it after Anime Expo. So I wouldn't say it's been totally ruled out.
edit: and I've also asked a mate to take a look at it on the site and he told me there was no mention of either series in the official statement or anything saying there was "no plans for either". There were only comments regarding the leaked file.Last edited by Zapp$ter; 08-07-2008, 13:53.

Rargh. More stuff:
Sekirei: Was cautiously expectant of this but it turns out I shouldn't have been really. Rosario + Vampire of the season it seems with it being a bit of a disappointment compared to the manga although they kept the giant breasts and clothes which kept ripping but made the story a bit more silly. The music really annoyed me for it's genericness as well. Not enough to stop me watching mind.
Birdy: Top stuff. Nice animation and a decentish story-line. Had to keep repeating to myself "It's not Nina, you don't need to hate her" whenever Birdy was talking though.
Hidamari 365: Yay! Bit of a recap but still as good as it was before. Typical greatness from Miyako as before.
Got Slayers and Mahou Tsuki kicking about but I'm determined not to watch them till I get round to their previous series which will be a while considering the slow download speed of the Slayers batch. <_<

Just watched Birdy to, good stuff. Reminds me alot of MiB mixed with Figure17(the super girl fighting space aliens on earth bit).
Im thinking of getting the dvds for Slayers, i had alook back at my collection and there all terrible quality avi's and i wouldn't mind seeing the epic balls to wall stuff at the middle and end of Next and Try again.
edit***
you had me confused with Mahou Tsuki being a sequel, had to look up the english name and holy hell is a sequel to Someday's Dreamers... been 3/4 years seen i watched that and i've totally let this pass me by, i remember liking that alot.Last edited by Tobal; 08-07-2008, 22:55.

I don't think it's a sequel, it's just using the same setting. IIRC it's based on a new manga of the same name. Different characters involved.
edit: haha! just watched kurenai ep 6 in my efforts to finish it off. Lovely episode. Didn't expect that. Very pleased with how it's progressing
edit2: wow. That was damn good. Ended on a very nice and unexpected note.
I'd have probably preferred them to have left with Murasaki but as ever she always surprises. One of the starts of the show for me. Kept just the right side of annoying throughout the series (though there were moments).
Loved the humour in the series and the chemistry between the characters, probably my favourite set of episodes was at the beginning of the series mainly because I liked the setup, the pacing etc.. and the comedy also helped that. There were some nice action scenes too, and I jumped for joy when
crazy bitch Lin and that knob of a brother(was he sleeping with his mother? maybe I was reading too much into the "wait for me in a warm room, mother" comment) got a beat down.
Voice acting was great too and I enjoyed the music in it. The more I think about it the less there is that I dislike. Even some of the questionable stuff they poke fun at themselves with
like the whole lolicon thing
Big surprise really as it wasn't high up on my anticipated list before the season started but after a few episodes it quickly became a favourite. One of the best shows the season had to offer for me. I wouldn't mind seeing more of these characters if there is a continuation to be had. Would certainly be interesting to see where the manga/novels are etc...Last edited by Zapp$ter; 10-07-2008, 02:07.

Hah! First this time but I've been waiting for this series so...
Natsume Yuujinchou ep1: Mushishi meets some of the sillyness of 'holic is the best way I can think of it. First ep was really good; superb animation and the storyline seems great as well. Definitely a keeper of the season.
Also, the extra dvd episode of Aria is floating around, ep 5.5, so for those who care be sure to pick it up.

I don't think newer anime fans will get in to Slayers much, has been a decade since the last and it looks to be repeating the formula laid down by past 3 seasons (and movies), intro -> sillyness -> Badyguys intro -> mid point cliffhanger and all **** breaks loose ->bit more sillyness -> twist for real badguy -> epic end. Give it a chance, heck Xelloss hasen't turned up yet one of the best anti-heroes ever created

Heh. I still have the old files you sent me, but I think I also got the newer batch of the dvd rip ones. I remember seeing a huge torrent for Slayers which I grabbed. Need to find the hard drive they are on. If anyone wants me to send them out on some dvds I'd be happy to. Just PM me.
I'm just looking for some good action/adventure with a bit of comedy and I remember Slayers fitting the bill or at least what I've heard about it from people. I suppose the older art style will take a bit of getting used to but then I've seen stuff from shows in the 80s so I think I'll be okay in that regard.

. The trouble with some of the older shows is there are so many episodes for some of them, it's crazy.
