Nodame Cantabile ep1 - One the new shows this season, from what i've read on forums about the manga i was expecting something quite bad. But it turned out quite good, got good few laughs out of it and it by the same guys that did Honey and Clover so the art is very close. About 2 student musicians one stupid slobby girl(that has gift of playing piano in a strange way) and the model student, snobby guy that plays piano like a pro but hates it and prefers to be conductor... good fun and worht the watch.

    Code Geass ep12/13 - ooohh,

was expect some get Kira/Fray(GSD) relationship then with Shirley, but never went beyond the kiss, and now after few missgivings from lelouch soon get back on track by using the JLF as bait and killing them and there attackers in one go, and then the botched attack from his knights, ending him at gunpoint by Shirley brilliant. Need episode 14!

Sadley for a return to the story, the animation just wasn't there, and the art look awful.

Bokura ga Ita ep24-26 end, Good show, glad i kept up with it instead of storing it away for another time, in the end it ended how i expected it go since about ep 23/23.

There was no way he could leave his ditzy mum, especially if she has cancer(although they both seemed alittle indifferent to it). Most of ep25/26 was nana cying increasingly cute ways and i laughed when she shot down his zoo trip(+sex) for their last date. Ep26 was very well animated and it was sad to watch them part on the train . I liked that triad included a scanlation of the last pages of story(vol8) from the manga which adds on abit extra after Yano leaves(also i didn't realize 3 years had passed in the anime since Nana meet Yano)... and its heart wretching... the train parting was the last time nana saw Yano... wtf! i really want to read up to the current vol11 to find out whats going on in nana's life now(3 years on from Yano's parting/disappearance) but there's know scanlations past vol3
Haha. Bleach did look a bit poor, the classroom scene for example >_< Not a particularly great episode but I'm hoping the arc is up to the standard of the soul society one as that was ace.

Bokura Ga Ita - personally I thought it wasn't just good but a great show and one of my favourites from 2006 easily. I'd really like to see what happens after volume 8 too. Quite the cliffhanger. Hopefully there's another season of the anime to cover the rest of the manga that's currently out. I'd like to see what's happened to them in that time.

Really? From what I read about it a couple of months ago, the first thing that struck me was that this could be the next Honey and Clover. I'd heard good stuff about the manga and the live action adaptation. The more info I found out about it the more excited I got(hence why I listed it a page or two back as one of the shows I was looking forward to). Like same production company, same director etc.. as H&C. Oh well, glad it turned out to be a worth watching. I'll check it out tonight or tomorrow I guess.

        Death Note 13 -

So far, a consistently superb anime. I've never read the manga, but I love the way how this anime throws all sorts of twists and turns into the mix. It was only a matter of time before the "fake" Kira made contact with Yagumi Light. Now, does Light make use of his new girlfriend's Death God eye ability and finish L off?

The only real downer with Death Note is the lack of TW and LE subs, given the anime has been picked up a US studio. Oh well, Animanda.net are picking up from where they left off, so hope the subs are of equal quality.

i watched the under9000 version of death note 13, purely as it was the first one i noticed. it was adequate, but i'll be checking somebody elses version next week. top episode though, really have no idea where its headed. i have to assume that L isnt going to die that soon/easily, but you never know with this show.

thought the first episode of Nodame Cantabile was quite nice. but i am partial to a bit of piano music too. difficult to guage how serious/funny it will be from the first episode. certainly going to watch the next one though.

The Animanda subs are very, very good. On par with L-E easily. Although I noticed slight deviations in the translation with the Under9000 subs, most notably,

the bit where Light says he'll try/pretend to be a good boyfriend.

!!! I didn't know someone was continuing with Death Note, silly me forgot to check around after seeing that LE were stopping. Good news in the long run that it got licensed though, it's one I'd love to have on the shelf in an evil looking boxset, especially if it came with a figure of Ryuk like the ones I've seen on ebay.

More series I want to talk about but feel sick so don't want to sit here for too long.

If I'm not mistaken the subs tagged DG (which = Death God) are Toriyama's world under another name. I've also heard animanda subs are decent too. So I suppose those are the best choices of the ones remaining.

Me too, I'd quite happily shell out for the series on DVD.

Best thing after 24 for me. I like it *that* much.

Nodame Cantabile ep1 - maybe it's because I'm biased, being that I was pretty hyped for it, but I really enjoyed that. It's easy to see why people make comparisons to H&C with the anime, at least visually it's very similar (to be expected really). I have to say I liked Nodame's character.

Maybe it was the animation that was off, I'm not sure, but she looked chubby and not like the hourglass figures of most anime females (or maybe that was just me). Plus the way she lives like a slob. She seems pretty unique for a main female lead in an anime, at least I can't really recall offhand one that has been shown to live like she has. Not exactly the epitome of cleanliness is she? Not too sure about Chiaki (seemed really snobbish in the first ep but I suppose that's the point) just yet but I guess he'll mellow out in the coming eps or something. Pretty funny first episode too. Like when she's chasing Chiaki to give him his belt back and the bit at the end where she seemed pretty forward with her feelings plus the line in the preview were some of the bits I remembered

Definitely a keeper IMO. Can't wait for the next one.

I really enjoyed Nodame Cantabile too. It's not just you, I thought she looked a chubby too with her belly showing through. I'm tempted to try out the live action version now...

Never got in to Rozen Maiden, found the Loli doll thing to creepy.

Busou Renkin ep15 - Finished of the 1st story arc, with partial battle between

Black kakugane Kazuki and Victor with a very cool moment where they cut each others arms of and use that to remake there lobbed off arm

,loved the triangle of Papillon/Tokiko/Kazuki and the comedy they produce and the little flirty moments between Tokiko/Kazuki. Looks like another good episode next ep

with the AW given orders to destroy Kazuki because of his Black Kakugane

. Also i think this is the first but is super dam cool, the new end credits feature nothing but Papillon(major Villian/Anti-Hero).

Creepy as in you felt grossed out by it? or scary creepy? Wasn't it you who said you'd seen Rizelmine earlier in this thread somewhere (I forget) and that has apparently a fair bit of loli fanservice(I haven't seen it myself). All I can say for Rozen Maiden is that it's really quite clean. I can't recall any instances of panty shots/nudity etc... stuff that's usually referred to as fanservice especially centred around the dolls. There's no blossoming love between the kid and the dolls so it's all pretty much above board. It's basically Mai Hime with dolls, with less fanservice and slightly more comedy I suppose (though it does get quite serious during the parts of both seasons). Oh and there's not quite as much fighting action as in Mai Hime.

I thought Rozen maiden was pretty decent overall, not as great as some of its fans make it out to be IMO but not horrendous either. It's a decent show and enjoyable to watch. I wouldn't say it's a must watch but if you have time you could do a lot worse.

Hmm... The fights are over too quickly for me. I'd have liked to see a bit more between Victor and Kazuki. I suppose it's better than them stretching the fights out over a couple of episodes. Personally I think the comedy is perhaps one of its best aspects. Certainly it's made me chuckle on a number of occasions in pretty much every ep, like Kazuki hanging onto Papillon as he is about to gracefully take flight There's only one show that I know that is more camp than this show when Papillon is onscreen and that's pretty funny too. As you say the next ep looks to be pretty good too. Good stuff overall

@importaku: PM me the eps you need. Might be awhile before I can get them to you though. I'll have to find the disks first...

I've started watching Nodame Cantabile. A music/comedy anime in the lines of Beck, but centered on classical music? Count me in.

Episode 2 was released today (C1's subs seem to be of a much lower quality than Froth-Bite's -- I'll stick with FB from now on).

                                Overdriven electric violin.

                                'Nuff said.
