Thought i'd share my new picture. So so glad finally finished this bugger...



This was drawn on ‘smooth bristol board’ paper with a biro pen and pencil, and then shaded layer after layer with 2B, 3B and 9B graphite pencils. Also used watercolours and tidied things up digitally.

This is my uncle’s beautiful daughter, Ruby. He told her that if she’s good girl she’ll receive a picture drawn by one of Santa’s little elfs :-p

I’ve never drawn a picture portrait before so this a real pain in the arse and took a few drafts to get it finally right. I hope she likes it :-)

wtf.... talent. Can I ask, can you do this level of detail from memory or do you need a photo? Clearly some of your other fantasy pics are from your mind's eye, but either way, it's still annoyingly talented.

I usually draw from mind and memory but this was from a photo (well, a couple of photos actually! Some of her head and body was missing in the photo so I had to do a little guess work...)

Really trying to focus on realism at the moment, but i have to admit picture portraits really aren't my thing but its all good practice. I'll send you a wee pm a little later buddy about charges and whatnot. You thinking about wanting one of your little ones?

And glad you're feeling better. I'm far, far too Christmasy at the mo to let my cold bog me down! Aha

A lot of talent though? Ha, i think it's more stubbornness! Believe me, there were many many times where that pic looked absolutely poo, yet my stubbornness stopped me from giving up and instead i spent an extra forty hours trying to get it right! I had no idea what i was doing... but after time it seemed to come together (thank goodness!)
