If you think Windows and the use of CNTL is bad - try using vi under Unix. Or worse ROSCOE.

    Old school.

Pah, I remember when we issued all our commands to computers via bits of punched paper.. undoing a ctrl-c/ctrl-v mix-up back then was no picnic I can tell you.

I love vi, although I use it so rarely that I always have to do man vi first to check the commands

Freaked the crap out of me in the early days but I think having to keep your wits about you while editing some important config file is good because, after all, you are editing some important config file.

Did you have full control over the punching process? Could you punch 'twat' on a paper and feed it in? I'd do that in a flash.

ctrl-z. Also scarily close to c and v.

vi is a nightmare for my tiny brain. edit mode? no idea. hit some keys. nope, not in edit mode.

Dust on my TV, consoles, pc and other electronic equipment. My TV, in particular, has a piano black finish and it attracts dust like nobody's business!

Thank goodness for Pledge fluffy duster then. You can even use it on your TV screen and it won't cause a single scratch

The unbearably slow pace at which today is grinding along. It's only 3pm, still 3 hours to go

Yesterday went quite quickly as I spent most of it experimenting with remote-installing McAfee anti virus and stuff but today's been boring as a result.

Going piano room after work so I have something to look forward to, although it's making the day even slower.

Today we got the call from Ofsted. They will be here on Thursday and Friday, cue much stressing and wailing from some members of staff. Must keep calm, the weekend will be here no matter what happens.

It's a hassle I could do without, but once it is out of the way I can get back to doing my job. Drinks on Friday then.

I love Ofsteds. I like seeing the hyper cat land amongst the pigeons.
