With Father Ted she had trouble with the accents and she knows bugger-all about Christianity(not sure how important this is). Similar issue thing with Manny in Black Books.

So far successes have come through the cunning selection of YouTube clips so maybe the same is in order for those two.

You need a dodgy korean DVD player like the one I got for 3000yen from Tsutaya. It said region 2 on the back but turned out to be region free, even forcing PAL into NTSC.

But I'd be very surprised if it did frame rate conversion like PC DVD players do. I've watched DVDs at the wrong rate on my old Xbox and for films it's not too bad but UK telly stuff is horrible at 60hz.

My very basic LCD TV couldn't handle Animal Crossing without ghosting. I wouldn't have noticed anything with DVDs.

Finally done what I have been planning to do for 20 years and signed up for Japanese lessons! Another step in my year of self improvement...

Next step...learn to drive. Tomorrows job is researching instructors.

Summer. We've had a few posts in the irk thread regarding summer being basically ****, so I thought I'd balance it out.

It's awesome. It's warm, outdoors feels actually hospitable rather than angrily cold, it's sunny and it makes London that bit less grey. On top of all that, girls are wearing way less and in general look 10x better than they do in the winter. What's not to like?! Love it
