Babel is a good player but he is not a good footballer!
Seriously, he will probably do well elsewhere, he just isn't very bright and Rafa thought he could teach him. The common thread in interviews about Rafa is how much new stuff he gives to new players - stuff they have never had before. In a way, it is sink or swim, if you take that in - you will improve massively. All our top players have benefitted from his input massively and seen major steps in their games - every single member of our spine [Pepe to El Nino].
There is not a player we have who is *as good* as they were in their previous team/setup - they either improve or get worse. Keane failed cos he didn't listen, it is well known that Rafa was exasperated at his inability to play for the team and as instructed.
N'Gog is a better player (for us) than Babel is, he listens, he brings the team into play and floats around.

Glad I didn't apply for a ticket to the match now though, what with all the snow shenanigans.

Smurfy, this is how people feel. It is not a business minded movement by the fans. The **** going on behind the scenes is shambolic - we are run like Newcastle! This is not disseminated in the wider press so people do think the fans are OTT or ridiculous but LFC (and Everton too) are very much community clubs, deeply embedded within the city's culture and identity. It DOES mean something. The fact is, the fans are deeply loyal but will not be treated contemptuously. If prospective buyers know the risk/reward nature of it, they will be informed. If they get it right, they will have a loyal, and willing, fanbase. H & G have not because they have lied and lied. As I expected them to, but not everyone did.
