I am not sure it is ideal to have a King Rafa, his transfers (Albert excepted) in the past window have not been amazing....
Ultimately it comes down to money even if it's not going in his pocket. He wants to have more say over the spending and the power that comes with it. There's also the possibility that by having this control over the spending, it becomes 'his squad' and it makes it harder to sack him.

If Liverpool do end up without a trophy this season, I can't imagine there not being louder whispers wondering if he's the man to get Liverpool a league title. He's already getting a bit of stick for the recent results because of him resting players (something that has cost Liverpool in previous seasons)

Not a scintillating game to watch so far. Only a bad bad miss by Torres and a good save by Reina have been of note so far.

Everton aren't defending especially deep, it just seems a very sedate game.

Very "bitty" game so far, gutted when Torres hit the post, thought we were one up there. As long as Riena stops dropping crosses/corners, we'll hopefully keep a clean sheet, Everton haven't been too threatening.

Need Keane to get involved a bit more and we'll (hopefully) be laughing. Not another 0-0 please.

            Bloody typical. Enough said.

That was probably Keane's best game.
What a waste of games. I am so annoyed with that game and the one(s) against Stoke.

Truth be told, you lot should have beaten Everton on the balance of play. Torres of all people missed a great chance in the first half. But you only have yourselves to blame for not getting the three points at home, and not for the first time this season. Get rid of Benayoun

                But yeah.....Nice one, Everton

While all the other top teams are scoring winners in the dying minutes we've let one in.

We'll probably thump them 3-0 in the Cup next weekend now.

Not felt so p*ssed off since Hamilton won the WDC.

It was quite funny when Reina tried to do a slide when celebrating your goal.

Bit of a sickener, and we have chucked away far too many points at Anfield this season. BUT it is coming up to February and we are level on points with Man Utd, which is progress compared to the last few seasons. Man Utd have been on a great run whilst we've dropped points, but with Torres back I'm sure we will get on a run of our own. We usually have a a rough Winter and then hit our stride towards the finish.

All the negativity and panic won't help - we're still in a great position to fight for the title.

We played plop. We were our own enemy at times. Benitez's game changing sub Lucas was loads of help. Taking 2 top strikers off was poo at 1-0.. I mean what if they had equalized and we then needed a goal? Oh.. they did. Aaah but we had Lucas in there doing jack and fouling. Aah well.

Considering the goal came in the 87th minute I dont think you could complain really about the substitutions.

Also, Keane hasn't been a 'top' striker since he joined Liverpool. He has been utter ****. Which leaves Torres, who was taken off because he lacks match fitness. If Gerrard had been taken off then I'd have agreed with you.

Liverpool now need to beat United in March to have a chance of winning the league, I think.

...As well as getting home victories against Chelsea, Arsenal & Villa, too.

Yep. We can still make it, if (if) we manage to do all that. On current form, I'm not as optimistic as I want to be though..

Same here, don't want to be negative but we just can't afford to keep drawing. Need to improve out goal difference also. Couple of back to back victories and I'll be smiling again. Nothing less will do really. Got some big games in the forthcoming weeks we need to be on top form for.
