If you had, you would've surely noticed the following, no?
Originally posted by The IndependentJuventus have agreed terms with Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez for him to manage the Serie A club next season, according to authoritative reports from Italy last night...
...Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport last night confirmed the arrival of Juve's representatives but insisted that it remains uncertain whether Benitez actually wants to leave Anfield.
Rubbish article.

I guess at this stage of the season - and the way Liverpool are playing - would a soild fourth place be 'good enough' after our (very) poor start?
A third place chase would be nice but Arsenal are playing good tidy football at the moment and I can't see them slipping too much. For me, a fourth place finish would be good even though that is not good enough for some.

I think if we get fourth this season then next season we don't amount to anything again, it's the end of the line for the manager. No arguments there, but realistically we aren't in the same revenue/spending power league as Arsenal, Chelsea, Man U and now Man City..
I guess fourth / fifth place finishes are no more than our power deserves.

Christian Purslow has this week confirmed that Rafa no longer has a transfer budget and all purchases must be funded by player sales. All profit from day to day club activities will be used to pay down the debt.
Not only are we well behind the top teams in terms of spending power we are now some way behind the likes of Villa, Birmingham etc. If this doesn't improve by the summer 4th place will become a massive over-achievement for any manager at the club.

This is how it was worded.
"The nature of funding the player account is it must balance, no more can go out than has come in. If we have ?30 million in the account, then we can only spend ?30 million. The player account is funded by player sales and any profit. Presently profit goes primarily towards paying the debt..."
He also states that the money from this player account is also used for contract extensions and agent's costs, so these things are also now funded by player sales - which at least explains where the remainder of the fee received for Xabi Alonso has gone.
