Christ everyone's off with that bloody injury. Could it be something to do with these new fangled boots? They more resemble running shoes than football boots nowadays.

Very bad news, considering that we've got some big Prem games coming up (derby with the Blue ****e & Arsenal amongst them).

Agger's injury is easily the more devastating of the two - we'll be without his excellent ball-playing skills as well as his pace and athleticism. Sami's been a great servant but any Prem striker with decent pace would have to fancy their chances against him - He had a clear headstart on Sektioui on Tuesday night and was still beaten for pace in the lead up to Porto's penalty.

We'll not miss Alonso as much due to the sheer cover in the squad, and the fact that Xabi hasn't been playing well for quite some time now.

I think a certain player showed why he should start every game tonight

I think Yossi deserves more prem action too.

Not sure I agree 100% with Liverpools new efforts to reduce the number of Man U supporters out there!

In other news I'm off to watch them tomorrow night against Marseille. The night before my birthday too, so they'd better perform dammit!

Hi liverpool supporters just a question I've always wondered about.

You know the NEVER WALK ALONE SONG . How come Celtic supporters sing it also. Did they steal it or what. Whats the story?

I think it is because of the Catholic connection.

                      Anyway

F****** ****...looks like we have lost

What an awful performance We just never got going. Marseille deserved the win - kinda reminded me of how we used to play away in Europe under Houllier.

Sounded like we were sh*te just from reading the BBC write up. Five points behind group leaders already. Benetiz's squad rotation/tinkering is costing us points too often

An astonishingly poor performance - and I find that in itself to be amazing after the display away to Porto.

I'd like to take back my comments about us not missing Xabi - even with a broken metatarsal, he would've been preferable to Momo tonight. Andriy Voronin coming on as a left-winger? Where were Javier Mascherano & Ryan Babel tonight? Our midfield was utterly inept - Stevie G included, without question. Looks like dithering over buying a techincally competent defender in the wake of the Heinze fiasco and not signing Quaresma may yet cost Rafa.

Qualification from this group looks like it'll have to be done the hard way - 3 wins (if not maximum points) from the 4 remaining games. On evidence seen so far, Porto look more than capable of getting something at Anfield...

All that said, full credit must go to Marseille. Slagged off and written off by all in the English media before a ball had even been kicked. They looked like the home side tonight and gave us an outright lesson in how to pass and keep posession.

What's going on at Liverpool? Apart from the Carling Cup game with Reading we've been utter **** since thrashing Derby. Ok, we're missing Alonso but that's no excuse, the teams Benitez has been putting out should be playing better than this

More pissed off about the booing at the end than the performance personally.
