Just started playing through this again for the 2nd time. I think the first time I completed it I had a standard 28" CRT, but now I have a 32" HD set and I'm blown away by how good this looks. Also just coming off the back of Tomb Raider Anniversary I have to say Crystal Dynamics have their work cut out with Underworld. The controls in Drakes just feel so much more fluid than the last Tomb Raider games.

JPN and USA are the same version Joe the chip on your machine just picks up what model you have (like resistence did on release) and cuts the blood out of the JPN machine (Ive got a jpn model myself it even does that on the pal version on a jpn machine). You want to check your dashboard as you will have to untick 720p to get it (on pal version it then defaults to 480p).

it wont let you untick 480p as it will be the default for the game. You can try it but what happens is if a game doesnt support the ticked one say 1080p it will force 480p Try all off apart from 1080i it will either load up with spinning coin straightaway in 1080i or it will force itself to 480p

Few other games do this as well I think first one was NBA08. Its basically the standard trick on PS3 to "force" 1080i or p to see if its got it or not it either works or you get 480p . Some games you have to be carefull as upscaling make em go blurry (gaiden sigma is one that supports 1080 out of box but needs to run at 720p as it goes blurry otherwise).

You might want to go thru Uncharted again with trophys. I admit first time I played it I didnt like the twist but when you go back for 2nd playthru you find its a very short bit of the game and now after a few playthrus I enjoy it lol

I'll give that a try then. TBH 720p is fine for me, but I would like to get it trophy-enabled, I'd keep it then.

Right, how do you do the trophies update? Does it just happen on its own when you boot the game?

If you are signed in & online it asks if you want to update to a newer version when you start the game.

PS: All old saves won't work after the update. (I dunno if they are physically overwritten.)

Yea it just updates when you load it online. Trophies only work on a new game.

Oh, yeah. I forgot to mention that the JPN game says 1080p on the back of the box. I'll have to use the other TV to find out if it works though.

Wow, I used a UK version to update to trophies. Now my JPN version still doesn't have blood, but I still have the treasures option and the other gallery stuff, and I also have trophies too. It's all very strange I tell thee!

I have a JPN machine and recently re purchased a UK version of this, the UK version now gives me blood around the top of the screen when I get hit.

I previously played through a US version and I don't think there was blood on that...

I decided to play this game again, its been months. I load it up and was asked to update a patch for it last night. So i update, then i play the game and all my old saves didnt come up! Hmmm..........

Im playing on a Jap 60 gig machine and im playing teh US version of teh game. It also now has blood, which is strangly appealing, Drake runs a bit quicker and there are now parts where he walks as you approach cut scenes.........

Most notable are the vibration and trophies now supported. Anyone know if i can still use my old saves as i almost had all teh medals and stuff...........

Apparently the old saves aren't valid with the new patch level because of the trophies. I'm sure it's mentioned in this thread already. *searches*

-Best animation EVER, so smooth to jump and climb, yet so responsive! AMAZING if you ask me.

I'm up to Chapter 6 & I thought I might as well quote your thoughts as that's exactly how I feel about the game. I can't believe that I bought it on launch & I'm only now playing it. I think I'm going fairly slowly through the game as I keep stopping & looking at every piece of scenery!

Do you have to collect all treasures in one sitting? I'm really back into this game again, I've even shelved MGS4 for it.
