320GB of saves? uh yeah right,

Just bought myself a 160gb harddrive so that's solved my problem. Bit of a pain that I can't get 2.4 for a while but given what it did to my last HD, I suppose I can live without it for a few weeks

        Pity about my saves......

I've prolly more PS1 games alone than you have strands of hair on your pretty little head. Thats without PS2 and PS3 titles, So yes, (almost) 320GB worth of saves.

            That's impressive, Joe. Most impressive.

To answer Chris Field's question, the Stardust update won’t be available again until after the 2.40 firmware update is fixed and up, some people were updating the game after the firmware was pulled and you can imagine the outcome …. crashed game.

PS1 saves are well under a megabyte each aren't they ? guessing you mean 320GB of "content" on your hard drive J0e.

.. Do you know how much hair I have at present? its a damn lot.

Plus, PS1 saves no matter how many you have, take up no room at all, wasn't the original memory card only 128kb, that means you have literally millions of ps1 saves, even if you had 1000 8MB ps2 cards absolutely full, that'd only be 8GB.

Plus if you've got a 320GB drive in your system, because thats probably the biggest SATA laptop drive out at present, you'd have to use some of that for game installs, plus formatting and the filesystem itself would take some of that off anyway.

I really doubt you've got 320GB of ps1/ps2/ps3 saves in total, do you know how many saves that is ? think about it.

128k = 1/8th of 1MB = 1024th of 1GB = so thats over 8000 ps1 memory cards, not saves even, for a single gigabyte. Does your 'memory card list' on the ps3 ps1/ps2 save utility have an ever sprawling list of 1000 ps1 memory cards, and 2000 ps2 memory cards? because even if it did, which it doesn't because the ps3 OS wouldn't support that much anyway, thats not even close to 30GB, let alone 320GB.

theoretical example, say you have 2000 PS2 memory cards in your list, all brimming with saves, at 8MB each, thats 16GB, and I doubt you have 2000 full memory cards in your list.

now, lets say you have 2000 ps1 memory cards, again, all BRIMMING with saves from your vast library of ps1 games, 2000x128k = 250MB.

so, you must have a lot of ps1/ps2/ps3 games, like literally thousands and thousands.

Maybe he saved every 30 seconds in Oblivion, each time to a new file, for 2 months, without stopping. Or maybe joe means MB not GB?

Don't you have to play your games to have saves?

If NTSC-uk had an award for talking rubbish, you'd win it no bother.

So, sorry if this is clear to others but I wanted to check, is 2.4 still available and if I have a Launch 60gb Jpn machine, is there a significant risk it will be killed?

                            PS1 card - 1Mb
                            PS2 card - 8Mb

                              Its not available.

For what it's worth though, I installed it when it was available, on a launch 60gb JPN machine and it was alright.
