While this DLC is interesting only for novelty value (and it IS free so no reason to complain) I am pleased that it opens up the possibility for DLC packs in future.

Yeah, its being free is fine, it's more the question it raises about what direction Nintendo is planning on taking its ip and dlc plans etc. Are many Mario Kart fans likely to buy Mercedes GLA's?

Must be a good sign for DLC on the whole though, cars/characters/tracks. Nintendo would be silly not to milk all the old tracks and characters.

Guts - same thing crossed my mind, hopefully Nintendo will have thought of that and it won't be quicker than anything already in game.

Seeing this makes me think the end times are nigh. When Nintendo - lovely fluffy Nintendo, purveyor of traditional gaming in its purest send - do stuff like this it really saddens me. no amount of "it's free" or "you don't have to get it / use" can console me.

I disagree. I'd like enough content presented with MK8 which will suffice until MK9.

I think it's funny, you lot are a bunch of moaning minnies sometimes . Also, it shows that the game at least has the infrastructure for DLC - thank GOD.

Every Mario Kart game is packed with content, but I tend to play them for 80+ hours at least. I would gladly buy pretty much any DLC that Nintendo would throw out. I would like Mario Kart 8 to be an MK platform, with regular releases of new tracks and characters. They only release one about every 5 years.

The idea of Mario Kart DLC makes me really excited.
