I love Mario Kart, and I would love to get new tracks without having to wait until the next Nintendo console and then 2 years after that for the next game to arrive.

No game needs DLC but I welcome it in the games that I really love. I played hundreds of hours of MKWii (if you wanted to calculate it per track it would probably be 10 hours each at a bare minimum) - not in time trial, but in 2/3/4P splitscreen with mates and girlfriends, which personally I enjoy more

So I'm well aware of just how much can be wrung out of the 32 included tracks. I just want MOAR.

32 tracks is plenty, but more would be even better.

I certainly hope we get some DLC tracks or cups in the future from Nintendo.

Just a heads up - if you want the free game download, do not register until after 10am tomorrow. I stupidly registered mine when it arrived. Then went on to site to read how to get my download, codes will only be sent for games registered after 10am on release. Spoke with Nintendo customer service, there is no way I will receive a code - the street date has been broken and it is to encourage people to"buy and register on release day". When I said many retailers would be open as early as 7am and people may register before 10am un knowingly, the guy said it is up to people to read the small print and "it has been a well advertised aspect of the promotion" regarding after 10am registration.

Yep I'm a bit bitter, but thought I better warn people anyways!

This happened a year ago with a game I can't remember the name of now (or was it on 3DS?). Nintendo back-tracked and gave people what they were entitled to in the end. Although the promotion start date and time wasn't hammered home so hard first time around.

Might sound daft, but have they toned down the blue shell?

i still like 64. I feel that the wii/dis one suffered from the overpowered blue shell, making it smarter to race the entire course in 2nd, then get the right power up at the last minute and be in 1st just for the final straight.

I know now the random element makes it better for families with small children, or playing with people who aren't hardcore gamers, but it just means 64 and Super Circuit remain the peak of the series for me.

I play a 100cc cup on the original SMK...it drives oh so differently from the latest installments! If no other new games get here between tomorrow and MK8 I'll play every game in the series to see how different the driving style has become over the years.

I actually loved that advert. I like the fact DLC is on the cards and that Nintendo may be branching out.

I thought it was funny and pretty cool :-)
