Lots of white pixels appearing on the edges of objects ect, it really is quite noticable so I dont know how you missed it if me and Shakey have both seen it I imagine its a problem for everyone with an LG and an Oppo.
Either that or your just lucky not to have the problem at all as that gives you less hassle as I would have preferred to use the HDMI come to think of it since I cant flick between my PC and Oppo as smoothly as I'd of wished.

I remember reading somewhere that the cables supplied with it are crap. You might want to get a better one from ebay.

Also, I don't think the LG can switch between VGA & DVI while both devices are on, so you'll have to leave one off otherwise there might be some interference.

        That sucks big style.

I have another DVI cable I got with my LG and it seems quite good so I'll see if its any better than the supplied one and get back to you on that.

Oh wait, you meant that regarding the HDMI cable being crap didnt you? I might just order one off ebay then and see but most people say with cables like that, since its digital, there isnt really a difference between a ?10 one and a ?50 one and its not that its just not good quality, its that theres an actual problem with the connection, so I think its just something conflicting between the LG and the Oppo on HDMI that cant be fixed, certainly dont want to risk spending loads on a cable and the problem still happening!!

i got my 360 VGA lead and my DVI to DVI & VGA splitter lead, but its been 20 days since ordering my 26" LG from Empire Direct and still no sign

I knew in the begining that the TV was out of stock and they were awaiting new stock but this wait is torture I had a TV buying fiasco last year and many companies pissed me around and i went with ED and they were awesome. Thats why i'm trying to stick out my order but its getting harder every day

As an alternative trilogy for showoffs, for all its faults as a film the DVD of Matrix Reloaded has a stunningly filmlike transfer.
The PAL version of Epp 2 is a total mess, the NTSC version is much better.

                MJ Goes 360 and HD

I got a Premium Xbox 360 this week and an offer came up today on an LCD TV I've been looking at for a while, so I have ordered the Samsung LE32R41B and a Samsung DVD-HD850. I wanted to upgrade my TV size from 32", but it was quite a jump in price above that and I'm a bit limited for room at the moment.

The TV has a HDMI input, among others, and the DVD player has a HDMI output and comes with a HDMI-HDMI lead. The player up-converts current DVDs to 720p/1080i. Full specs can be found at the links below.

I wasn't fussed about getting the DVD-HD950, as I don't buy SACDs or DVD-Audio discs, so it didn't seem worth the extra cost with true HD-DVD & Blu-ray launching soon.

                LCD TV:

                DVD Player:

I also get a one year extended warranty through my credit card company when the manufacturer's one ends.

I just thought I would share with people that I've taken the plunge after looking into costs and gathering information for some time.

It's almost like you were thinking to yourself.

I thought you'd have realised by now, you have to state a price (that you paid), and post pix and all that. It's the done thing.

Well MJ it just so happens I have an IDENTICAL setup with the same 3 items you are getting. It's bloody stunning and seeing other peoples HDTV's etc running really makes you feel glad you paid a little bit extra for a lot more quality! If you want any help with the best settings etc for the setup just let me know, as being correctly tuned with that TV can make a huge difference in picture quality!

The TV was ?799 with free delivery from mp3players.co.uk, a colleague at work bought one from there too, and the DVD player was ?74 with Super Saver Delivery at Amazon.co.uk.

I got the 360 from a local Game store in a two game bundle for ?330, I chose PDZ LE and CoD2, it was supposed to be selected titles, but they said to choose whatever I wanted. I then bought a Wired Controller and Play & Charge Kit from Game the next day using ?10 worth of Reward points against the purchase.

My current home theatre setup (Sony) has served me without fault for several years and I was trying to hold out on the upgrade until I paid my credit card off, so instead I've added to that debt delaying it by a month or two.
