Weird, was just checking my Flickr stats this morning and have had over 500 views just this morning! They (?) have looked at almost ALL my sets, that's a lot for one morning - I wonder who it was? I never get that many, especially not first thing in the morning pre-9am! Kinda flattering really, shame I don't know who it was though.

Does it show where they have come from?
Pete, if you're serious about going wider than 24mm, you haven't got a lot of options. There's the expensive 14mm prime, but I think the 10-22mm would be a nice width for you. I think you'll find the extra space really interesting and liberating. I've also read that the Tokina 11-17mm is very, very good. The fixed 2.8 aperture isn't that useful for landscape stuff, but it's nice to have constant exposure over the zoom range, and it'd be great for any group shots that you might need to do.Last edited by PeteJ; 28-05-2009, 15:53.

One of the fellas at work got a new camera a few weeks back, and asked me to pop along with him to Battersea power station to take some photos - It was quite tricky to get a decent angle on the place, and as the light wasn't brilliant, I've converted these to B&W, using a plugin I have found for Aperture called Silver Efex Pro (which is great for B&W stuff) - not sure if these look a bit overdone though ?

If anybody wants their photos printing I just found this list of sites that offer a free printing.
All you pay is P&P and a few of them you can even avoid that by picking them up from high street stores.

I'm doing a slightly dogmatic photographic routine at the moment. I'm trying to shoot with only my 50mm, in manual focus, exposure and aperture, in B&W, into JPEG, without any post processing. So far, I found out that I focus much better with my left eye. Who'da thunk?
I've only done one day properly so far, but I think I got a few good results so far:
Thing is, I took them as RAW, so I just extracted the JPEG and tried not to look at the RAW file, but I spotted a couple in colour and it's really tempting to post those instead. Don't do it, me!

That'll be your dominant eye, the visual accuity of that eye will be better.
If you ever want to check which eye is your dominant one look at an object with both eyes open and at arms lengh make an 'O' with your finger and thumb.
Make sure the object you are looking at is right in the middle of the 'O' you have just made. Now bring your 'o' towards your eyes, making sure that the object you are focussing on is always in the centre of the 'O'
Keep going until you have your 'o' up against 1 eye.
This is your dominant eye
