There is one tiny positive from all the spurious nonsense Woy spouted last night, that was that he acknowleged Agger is part of his best starting 11. Maybe he isn't as mad as I thought he was.
Still, I dont think Woy has much of a future at the club, he has begun to suggest he still has support from the squad. All it takes is somebody disgruntled to 'leak' disquiet within the camp and he'll be finished. The fans wont take too kindly to being told they aren't supporting him.
Benitez short term wouldn't work. The superstars dont like him afaik, that being Gerrard, Carragher and Torres. Torres I'm not 100% on but the other two for sure. It'd have to be an appointment with a view to the fact the disgruntled players of the past must be removed and Benitez allowed to carry on what he started. Sadly that'll never happen.

?Rafa wasted money and made bad signings?
His net spend was 8m a year. He signed Reina, Alonso, Torres, Agger, Mascherano, Garcia (who was pretty much invaluable in the Champions League) Kuyt, Benayoun, and some quality temp players who came in, did a job for a season and left - I actually really liked this approach as it kept everyone on their toes. He made a number of disappointing signings (the majority on a free) - name a manager that hasn?t.
?Rafa's an average manager?
He?s won ten trophies including the champions league, La Liga twice, the FA cup and the UEFA cup. How the hell is that average?
?He left Liverpool with a crap squad?
Rafa stated that after Liverpool finished second Hicks sacked pretty much everyone behind the scenes and brought in a new managing director who hand picked 9 players. The only way he could spend was through money generated by sales and then some of those signings weren?t even his - so there was a nice downward spiral of players being signed in positions that weren?t needed. Undoubtedly he made a number of poor signings as well, but for the press to completely blame Rafa for Liverpool?s current predicament while ignoring Hicks is disgusting.
Also, Rafa?s League finishes:
09/10: 7
08/09: 2
07/08: 4
06/07: 3
05/06: 3
04/05: 5
Very tidy record if you scratch last season when Hicks nearly destroyed the club.
