Ill second that. Loving this just as much as 4 in coop. Which is how 5 is designed to be played.

Stun rod for the win as well

Also, kudos to Capcom for making the first online game to use invites on the XMB friends list. Makes this nice and integrated.

Need to get on co-op soon, I always play co-op once the SP experience is done, i'm weird like that I guess.

Gonna marathon it all night tonight and i'm well up for some replay value to get all the achievements etc, a first for a Resident Evil game for me.

Never played Mercenaries for RE4 either, so i'm well up for it if it exists in 5.

I actualy think the people who are saying the games are the same havent played RE4 latley, as it was just a alot better made game.

Well I clocked Resi 4 on the cube/ps2 and the have almost finished the wii version and, i have to disagree with you; the way the enemies act/animations/puzzle types/player animations/quick turn/walk/run/aim/reload/pacing/on rails section/weapon upgrading/item management etc etc are pretty much exactly the same as 4.

I certainly enjoyed Resi 4 more, but 5 is pretty much more of the same. If you have a high def set up/DD5.1 set up, its even nicer!

Anyone bother with the melee/bullet proof vest? I'd of bought it by now if it didn't take up a precious inventory slot!!

It's supposed to reduce damage taken but it has to be in Chris's or Sheva's inventory for it to work

Just finished up chapter 5-1 (co-op) and did the boss battle with the

                          giant spider thing

, was absolutely awesome. The story is also beginning to take shape too, awesome stuff

Loved some of the "puzzles" leading up to that battle, some superbly designed locations. Oh and also thought the inclusion of the
was fantastic! The part where you think you have

sneaked past them and then you have to kick in the door which leads to loads of lickers coming at you

                          , superb!

Too many damn cut scenes in my opinion. You can't turn a corner without bearing witness to yet another cutscene. Up to chapter 4 now and, besides the stages being much too short (especillay compared to Resi 4's) it's also clear they're largely devoid of new ideas too. I concede that playing co-op is quite good fun, it's just a shame playing single player is quintessentially an uninspiring and mostly trivial experience.

Oh, and I know taste is taste and everyone appreciates and enjoys different things in games but I can't understand where those saying this is Resi 4's equal are coming from. Graphics aside, not a single aspect of it can hold a candle to what the prequel managed. The settings, structure, story, set pieces, character development, dialogue, it's all firmly in Resi 4's shadow.

On the other hand I can't understand where the comments that RE4 is way better than this are coming from
