Latest PS3 Firmware Updates

Aye, I've bought a ton of arcadey games just so i can justify having the stick and get some more use out of it. Capcom retro bits and SF and the like.

IMO, the good stuff in the update is massively outwayed by my stick not working anymore

Just tried Devil May Cry 3 SE with upscaling enabled, and it looks blurrier in my eyes on my WLT68 than without upscaling enabled. I'm guessing this might be doen to the WLT68 doing a better job of upscaling on it's own, but i definitely will be leaving the PS3 upscaling option off.

I think with the PS1/PS2 games they look pretty much like they did on the original machines! There will be differences due to the emulator not handling all games as well but my PS1 games look like PS1 games and my PS2 games look like PS2 games so I'm happy with that.

Just watched Batman Returns in 1080i wow the scaler in this is amazing

The upscaling of PS2 games works really well. PES 6 is better than the
blocky mess it was before. RE4 looks better too...

Noticed they still didn't include sub-folders in the VIDEO folder !
That is unless i'm missing something...?

Well Ive checked all my PSX and PS2 games now and they all look better upscaled. Im shocked really I didnt expect much difference. Im also pleased as I can use this option and play 99% of games as the emotion engine in the Japanese PS3 has not been disabled. I didnt expect upscaling to be able to be done on the US/Japanese PS3s so its a nice bonus.

I've done the update and set the DVD upscaling options (Though I'm not sure why, I don't use the PS3 for watching DVDs! ) but I didn't see anything in the menu for games. Does it ask when you start the game, or is the setting not in the settings menu with the DVD options?

It's in the Games Settings tab in the XMB.
