Back up to 126,000 points already!
No PSVR2 for me though, I've jettisoned my PS5 whilst it still retains value ahead of any potential model.
Never had a PlayStation gather so much dust through lack of use and I don't consider Spider-Man 2 or Twisted Metal highly enough to hold on to it

Yeah I'll be honest I've pretty much transitioned entirely to pc now. Think I've fired my ps5 up once this week.

It'd been idle ever since Ragnarok 7 months ago and if I'm being honest that wasn't a game that blew me away. I can't recall what the game was before that I looked forward to on it but atm Sony seem to be waiting on Spider-Man 2 and though I enjoyed the two prior releases they're light, shallow things that I can wait for the eventual PC port of.

I got shot of my PS5 to afford the Steam Deck... I'm moving back Australia early next year so I'm going to wait till then to see when to pick one up again. The Steam Deck being the better travel companion until then.

I was tempted to buy one last week as there were a few deals floating round and I had MS rewards but the kids have been begging for a Switch so I got that instead.

Still really want to own all 3 but the longer wait will help and there's nothing coming out this year I want anyway

I enjoyed Horizon forbidden west, but I doubt I'd ever return to it. Spiderman was OK. GoW isn't my thing. GT7 is good but empty.
FF16 is the one I'm looking forward right now.

Yeah it's heading that way as I've ended up buying most of the Sony releases on PC including Days Gone, GOW, Miles Morales etc... But I don't own a full on PC gaming rig so at the moment I'm only playing those on the Steam Deck.

I have been tossing up between PC or PS5 so the jury is still out there. I'm just waiting now till we're settled back in Australia before I add anything else to the collection.

I do actually like the PS5 as a system but I just hate it as a console design. If they come out with a slimmed down model I'll be all over it.

In a update to the joypad problems, my investment in a anti static mat, plastic foam cleaning buds, long nose pliers, lube and rubbing alcohol took me close to £35, most of the way to buy a new pad but.. it paid off after following a youtube guide, drifting gone in the right stick. Hardest part was getting the back cover off, feels so close to snapping something.

I have slight drifting in the left on my other pad, so i'll have ago at that next but i want to get some better small levers, the cheap chinese plastic ones i got snapped.

Isn't this meant to be happening? I'm hanging out for the PS5 too, but it seems so close to the historical mid-gen revision now I don't know if I want to bite on the PS5 Phat. I know if I did they'd announce a Slim the day after.

Good news Tobal. The plastic black spacer in between the plates and back plate are an absolute sod to get off, they always feel like their going to snap in two.

What levers did you get?

Isn't this meant to be happening? I'm hanging out for the PS5 too, but it seems so close to the historical mid-gen revision now I don't know if I want to bite on the PS5 Phat. I know if I did they'd announce a Slim the day after.

Dunno, there's been that rumour of them having the disc drive separately and going down to one version. Other than that we've not much news around whether it's actually going to be significantly slimmer.

well to be fair... it was set of different plastic tweezers that turn up costing £3, somehow read it as levers, used them to at least get the black part off while the ends snapped , they also had no grip on them so it didn't even help with pulling the ribbon tabs out, kept slipping out of the pinch.

Oh right I know what you mean. As frustrating as it is having something break after the warranty, may as well have a go, though they are surprisingly dense and complex these controllers so YouTube is must for research, but it’s easy with that vid going in, and the parts are cheap off Amazon.

Yep, I'm the opposite. I like the system design, controller, UI etc but as a platform its harder and harder tracking as the poorest PS and by the time things gear up I imagine a revision will have hit.

A PC, it's expensive but it's definitely better and covers just about 95-99% of what you'd ever need. A console just picks up that remaining % but what that console should be is becoming a harder and less compelling answer.
